  1. Id say 3 1/2 on the buck. He looks to have a little sway in the back and is getting a bit of a gut, but you can still differentiate the neck from the shoulders a bit. The doe is probably 2 1/2 or 3 1/2. Shes a good doe.
  2. Id let your friend know that its illegal to bait deer no matter what time of year it is. Salt and mineral blocks are considered baiting, just like a pile of corn. BTW, you can see the mineral block in the 2 pics on the original post as well, you just have to look closely.
  3. Me too. Ive had a ton of does and 2 bruiser bucks within range, in a shooting lane, but standing in corn. Ive been watching most of the deer travel around in the corn fields, just cant get shots at them. Im gonna spend some time on the ground in those corn fields this weekend if we get a windy day.
  4. Actually, we have a ton of does, its a pretty rare day if I dont see a doe while Im out hunting.
  5. I havent tried it through the web site yet.
  6. LOL, you can keep that doe pee.
  7. I used to shoot Lightfields out of my smooth bore with an IC, and they worked good. They are a hybrid sabot, which allows them to be used in smooth bore. You cant use a regular sabot, like a Remington Copper solid, Hornady SST, Winchester Premier, etc in a smooth bore gun though. I use the Hornady SSTs out of a rifled barrel now. Nice and clean and great groups at 100 yards. Havent shot them out further yet, but Ill be seeing what they do at 200 in a week or two.
  8. My theory, you arent going to see deer if you arent in the woods. Moon phase makes no difference in my theory.
  9. Been so long since I used a BB, I cant remember lol.
  10. I would tell them that they have a problem with trespassers and explain to them exactly what you have seen going on. You never know, you might end up with permission to hunt it down the road.
  11. Its probably a mount, which is why they covered it with the tarp.
  12. So I messed around with the app a bunch last night and loaded most of my stand locations into it. Oveall, its a great app, and takes the place of one of my other apps, which was similar, but didnt include the interactive mapping. The best part of it, IMO is that it gives you an hour by hour wind forecast for each of your stands for the next few days, then gives you a visual portrayal of where your scent may go. It also has a mode that would show you a general idea of what way to lay out your decoys if you are hunting waterfowl. You load all of your stand locations into the interactive map and can add details about each in a description field. They are also categorized and labeled accordingly. The app is nothing that anyone needs, but it is a kind of neat way to plot out your stands and keep track of details, and the hourly wind updates are a nice addition. Id say its worth the $2
  13. Yep, and Doe visits him now and then, they sing Kumbaya.
  14. steve863 lives in Tanzania, so the map had to zoom out to include him.
  15. Yep, gotta have the DEC permit to buy them. Im pretty sure there is a process to getting the permit which includes you needing to have an enclosure for them. It would probably be similar to the Domestic Game Animal Breeder License found here.... http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/25011.html
  16. Honestly guys, Im a sucker for Android Apps. I didnt even read most of the post, just saw the link, clicked it and the App looked cool, so I forked over my $2. Hell, I just bought the D&DH shot simulator App for my phone for $5 and this one looks more useful.
  17. Well, it must have been pretty good, it got me LOL
  18. HAHA, I hear ya. Im not the most patient person either, but Im too much of a cheap bast@ to pay for wild crab apple trees that I can grow for free.
