  1. Out since 530 in 3g. Clear, cold and little wind. Squirrels out in full force. Nothing else yet. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Live from Metro North. Both does from last weekend are butchered and in freezer. Took tomorrow off. May do dark to dark again to see if the celibacy ban has been lifted on the property. Probably sit over a doe bedding area or travel route. Good luck to all headed out for the Hail Mary tomorrow. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. Mom is back home with big sister. We just found out that five of the six pups from the first litter have passed their tests and are off to puppy training. Hope they all make the grade and become the service partner for five blind people. We will find out in a few months how her last litter graded. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. Out for a PM sit without phone. Same story as yesterday, lots of does moving but no bucks. Last doe group walked by and I filled DMP. Back was aching from yesterday's drag so I butchered and quartered her in the field. Heart shot. She took off running and was stone dead after 10 yards. Freezer will be filled with two does. Butcher them this week and then back at it to see if I can get a buck to slip up. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  5. Great all day sit. Probably a record for deer seen for me, all but one were does. Lone buck chasing a doe way too fast for a shot attempt. Does got passes all day. Shortly before 4pm, group of does woke up and started to.make their way towards me. I reached into my pocket for another pass, but my doe tag came out instead. Went 20 yards and piled up. 6. Apparently the bucks have taken a vow of celibacy this year on my property. Stalked in on two does bedded in the sun while moving to pm spot. Hung with them till they caught my wind and walked off. Not a buck around to harass them. Posted on a pm doe route for the evening. I hope all the free passes does have gotten pay off at some point. First all day sit wearing the Sitka bib. Pricey but toasty. Feet and hands are the only things feeling it. Congrats to those that connected and good luck all. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  7. My boys too. I always wondered where Max and Ruby's parents were. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. Lone Doe passed through checking over her shoulder. Hoping something is trailing her. So much for a midday refill of the thermos. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. Right now I'm thinking how much warmer I'd be if I had popped one of those does I passed earlier. No action since then. Squirrels sound like dinosaurs with these leaves. Heading in for a quick warmup at 11. Good luck. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  10. Out since 6in 3G. Chilllllly. Had a buck chasing a doe at 840. Looked decent. Doe hung around and buck disappeared into thin air. Doe was joined by button and another doe. Had them all at 10 yrds. Let them pass hoping buck was still around. Hope it was right call. Good luck to all out there. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  11. Dead for a short sit in 3G. Something was rustling in the thicket before sunrise but never got a visual. Even the squirrels were quiet. Very surprised. Would have thought to seem more on their feet. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  12. Out in 3g. 29 degrees and barely any wind. Dragged a scent in to see if I can be that hot doe. Frost made the leaves real crunchy. Tough to be quiet on the walk. Sitting till about 8 then off to work Good luck to all out there. . Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  13. Live from metro North. Out for a quick pre work at home sit tomorrow AM and dark to dark on Saturday. All in 3G. Good luck to all heading out. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  14. Tough be a dog mom. Lots of mouths to feed. Sounds like they are almost weaned and she should be coming home tomorrow. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  15. Sat till dark in 3G. Only thing I saw were two trespassing millennials. If anyone has a good recipe for millennial backstrap, please send it on as they are hanging in the garage. On the drive home, three does ambled slowly through the neighborhood onto a side street. Ahhh, suburbia. Congrats to all on a wild weekend. Great seeing all the success. 16. Out again in 3g. Posted in site of a doe trail until dark. Light south wind. Leaves real crunchy on walk in. Did not make for a stealthy walk. Good luck all. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  17. Good morning hunt before soccer game in 3G. 32 degrees, barely any wind. Had the 8 pt I am chasing come in at 730 to calling. No shot at vitals. He held there for a bit till he realized he heard a doe, but couldn't smell one or see one. Hung around for a little bit. Tried to call him back but he wasn't having it. Heart was pounding and then he trotted off. Whole mix of frustrating, exciting and fulfilling. Left to coach soccer win 6-0. Back at this PM. Jealous of all the good bucks on the board and hope to get it on myself. Good luck to all out there and congrats to all that connected. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  18. Tried for a short magic hour sit in 3g at the end of the work day. No luck and no magic. Wind swirling bad and only excitement turned out to be two squirrels fighting it out. Should have stayed in my back porch and popped the does in my yard. Temp is dropping tonight. Hope tomorrow am brings some action to all headed out. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  19. Live from the backyard on the new house. Two does browsing around, no one pushing them. Looking to head back out in about 30. Good luck to all out there.
  20. Out this AM for a quick sit before work in 3G. Wind was tough (gusting and swirling) but action is warming up. Large button or lone doe walked through before legal. Blind called using the estrus can. Brought in a spike and fork that both got passes. Had to leave after about an hour but hope to get out again tonight. Good luck to all out there.
  21. Big fork chasing a doe back and forth between my yard and neighbors yard in dark and pouring rain this AM. 3G region. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Big buck pushing a doe and a fawn across local roads off 22 in Brewster tonight. Looks like action in southern tier is picking up. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. Mom definitely looks like she has had enough. This week's photos. Very happy the pups are getting big and excited to have mom back with us soon. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  24. I add an emulsion of soy powder and olive oil to make it a little heart healthier rather than pork fat. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  25. I only hunt from the ground and am usually moving to different spots on the properties I hunt (mix of private and public). I like to have both binos and range finder as I usually don't have set distances locked in from a fixed vantage point. I use Tim Burnett's bino system: https://solohntr.com/product-category/gear/binocular-systems/ I find it very comfortable, has a pouch for range finder, loops you can stick a call in and magnetic close for the binos. Also has additional straps that allow you to let the binos dangle without needing to place them back in the pouch if you have to grab your bow fast. The only thing I don't like is the material on the inside of the pouch tends to make a squeaking noise when I placed the binos back in. I glued a piece of felt to it to dampen the noise.
