  1. Contact the town of East Hampton. They used to connect hunters with landowners that wanted people to hunt their property. Not sure if they still do. Try the vineyards on the north and south fork as well. From what I have seen out there, there is an inverse relationship between the amount of land someone owns and the likelihood that they are hunters themselves. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Said a different way... Most real Yankee fans know games in June are meaningless. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. Tag soup for me. I am sure two Tom's will be in my backyard tomorrow. Congrats to all that connected. Now the long wait till Oct 1. Too early to start a live from the deer woods thread? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. They're great tables. Perfect height for me at least. I have one for home that I use when butchering deer and another for beach for cleaning fish. I tuck a bucket under the drain to catch the water and fish guts. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  5. The bottom right fly is killer for schoolie striped bass in shallows. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  6. I've had three deer hanging out around me within bow range for the last hour. Apparently scent control is not needed in the off season. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  7. Out for officially the last time. Love the nicer weather but it sure is buggy out. No gobbles yet. Crows nice and noisy so hopefully the inspire something. Here till 8 or 9, then work and close the day out with a drive to the beach to kickoff summer. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. Enjoy it. I had one in the 90s and early 2000s. Loved it and never got stuck in sand, mud or snow. Decided to give it up once we had the second kid and it has rusted so much your feet would get wet when it rained and you drove through puddles. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. Slept through the 4 am alarm, but out in time to catch the sunrise. Beautiful morning in 3G. Not a gobble heard. Neighbors rooster and crows provided all the background noise. Got into a war of words with a raspy hen. She finally had enough and came in to kick my ass. Was hoping she brought a Tom along with her but no luck. She hung around for a bit till she realized there was no hen and putted off. On to soccer games. Best of luck to all out there. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  10. Not a peep heard. Saw a giant raccoon that looks like it had cellulite. I am thinking it will be a slow morning tomorrow, but at least I will get in early and fall back asleep in the woods. Lost a glove too, so at least I can hunt for that tomorrow. Edit: tried to make my post in English. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  11. Out in 3g trying doing some scouting for likely my last turkey hunt of the season tomorrow am. Private land right behind my house. Not five steps into the woods I spook a huge coyote. Out to dark hoping to hear a tom reveal himself. Beautiful day and evening. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  12. It's a great cut. Not sure of the recipe for an Italian pot roast but all my necks end up in the crock pot for a pot roast. It is very underrated. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  13. Well, I got my neighbors rooster riled up. Does that count for anything? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  14. Long week at work and slept through the 430 alarm. Out by seven and hearing nothing but beats work. Here till 10 or so when my boys are done with NYSMMA solos, then out to mother's day chores. Good luck all. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks. Seemed like an odd location and I always wondered what it was like. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  16. I drive by it all the time for my son's trumpet lessons. Any good? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  17. Calling it. Gobblers I had roosted flew down and headed over the ridge opposite my direction on private. Heard one shot in distance. Slow walk back to the house to see if I can locate a roaming tom and then off to the stadium. Paxton sounds like he will hit DL today. Joy. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  18. Gobblers roosted last night are still on the roost on neighbors property banging away. Setup in a hollow across from them trying to sound sexy enough to get them to cross the road. Here till about 9 then headed to Yankees game. Good luck to all. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  19. Love my wife. She was walking our dogs and roosted some Tom's for me. Unfortunately they are on the neighbors property and across a road I can never seem to get them to cross. If it isn't raining tomorrow am I will give it another run. Good luck to all. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  20. Out at 445 in 3G. No vocalizations from the roosts. Setup in a little clearing on a hilltop that showed sign. 630 gobble responded to a few of my yelps. Over the next hour he slowly works his way almost 270 degrees around my position. I never see him, but can hear him gobble and work through leaf litter. I wanted to move as I realized where he was working towards. But he let out a closer gobble when I readied to move and I stayed put. Finally see him bobbing his head through some brush almost dead behind me. He didn't like something he saw, gave the alarm and turned tail. Tried a couple soft calls to get him to come back, but no luck. I should have moved. Bummer that I blew the opportunity, but at least I have progressed in calling beyond saying "run away I am a hunter" in turkey. Congrats to those that have connected and good luck to all those out there. Weather looks awful for the next week or so. Not sure when I will be out again. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. You should get all your tags at the start of the new hunting season (usually some time in September). I get the full strip of all my deer tags, bear, fall and spring turkey in that one shop. That being said, there were huge issues getting lifetime tags last year. I never received mine and had replacements issued at no cost at my town clerk's office. If you have the privilege and a lifetime tag you should be able to tell the clerk you lost them and they will reprint. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Wish I was so fortunate. I had to drive around for half an hour opening morning to find a plot of public not stacked with cars. Good luck. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. I was always told not to use a gobbler call so you don't get shot by some googan who isn't verifying their target and beyond. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  24. I'd prefer if they drew the Montauk border a little further east, like the border between amagansett and Montauk. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  25. I second that. I forgot to do that on a bird I got a few years back. I think my kids are still chewing the drumstick. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
