Sat till dark in 3g. No action. Packing up and standing up to go I spooked two. Don't know if they were bedded and unseen all that time or started to move through after dark and I spooked them. Anyway, beats packing, moving boxes and painting. I will be back at that tomorrow for the final push before our moving day. Hopefully can wrap early enough for a PM sit. Out for the first time since last Thursday. After spending the last five days closing on a new house, moving boxes, painting and prepping the new digs I needed an afternoon sit. Final push of painting tomorrow before final move on Friday. Quick sit till dark planned now. Same wind and spot I saw large buck with a small spike work a scrape last week. Out for a quick evening sit overlooking a few trails and a funnel. Wind made it easy to walk in, but gusting in every direction. They may not have heard me, but every deer within a mile probably got a good whiff. Last likely sit for a bit for me. Closing on a new house tomorrow and likely busy the next week moving. Exciting short sit this evening on the ground in a blowdown. Nice 8 came in just at sundown. Tore up trees, dug a nice scrape and took a leak in it. His very little brother came in, barely a spike, and tried to spar with him. Big brother moved off and little brother came in to me. Eventually he ended up 10 feet away tops. Finally he saw me, stomped, head bobs, then finally blows and walks off. I know where the big guy is hanging, so hopefully I can get him to make a mistake during the daytime. Beat watching this disaster of a yankees' game. I am glad we locked up Severino to a contract. Can't let his lockdown playoff performances hit the free agency market. Definition of frustrating.... Sat from 1 to sunset, wind in my face overlooking a trail from bed to acorn flat. Saw zilch. Packup and slow walk back to the house. Spook a deer bedded within eyesight of my house. Probably was there since noon. Anniversary tomorrow. Quick sit in the morning and that's probably it for me. Good luck to all going out there. No luck cutting off the buck I spotted earlier today. I hoped he was bedded for the afternoon so went out in the evening on a travel path out of the bedding area. No dice. Walking back after sundown heard four rapid succession rifle shots (in a shotgun only area) from neighbor's property across the street followed by hooting and hollering. Kinda sucks that the likely choices are either people poaching or someone's mentoring a youth by telling them to shoot in the dark. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Well some excitement. Had a nice six mosey through swamp about 70 yds out. He spent about 30 mins deciding which trail to take out. He picked the right one for him, wrong one for me. Have him a grunt, caught his attention but didn't change his mind. I let him mosey off and then moved. He's heading to one of two spots and I am trying to cut him off. Switched things up today. Just got into a spot overlooking wetlands / swamp. Light north wind in my face. Will sit til noon or one hoping they were up all night feeding and look for a midday stroll. Would love to say this was a well thought out full moon strategy but the truth is I picked my son up from a concert last night at 1 am and couldn't answer the bell this am. Out this evening for a quick sit post work in 3G when rain abated. No deer but two Tom's (or a small flock of two very large hens) roosted in the trees behind me at sundown. Latest update with photos. Sadly, one of the pups was failing to thrive and passed last weekend. Very sad, but it happens with larger litters. The remaining 7 are all doing great.
