  1. Thanks. Followed Hank Shaw's recipe. Trying it on my spring turkey breast next. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. My first attempt at homemade venison pastrami. Tasted great. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. Sorry I have been out of pocket lately trying to run a business in the middle of the covid shutdown. Photo from this weekend cooking up my sons' tips from working at the local marina. Bluefin tuna and lobster. Both were killer. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. Ikea and Pepsi catching zzz's after a romp outside. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  5. It was great. Started with a Hank Shaw recipe on the kebabs and worked up from there. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  6. Venison kebab, homemade tzaziki on a pita with Israeli orzo salad. Unusual Easter meal for an unusual Easter. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  7. Venison steak subs. Smoke leg roast with smoklahoma rub. Sliced thin. On rolls with sauteed red onion, mushrooms and spinach. Topped with provolone and put in the oven to toast it up. Served au jus. Killer. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. Last night's dinner. Backstraps over sauteed spinach and shallots and Jasmine rice. Topped with a blackberry reduction and garlic toast. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. Dinner last night and tonight. Last night, glazed Japanese venison meatballs over bok choy and sushi rice. Tonight, venison Porklot over homemade Nokedli. My grandmother would have been proud. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  10. I am a Giants fan, huge Eli fan, and if Daniel Jones puts in the same career as Eli I would take it in a second. That being said, there were only two games I felt I was watching a Hall of Famer. Fortunately they were both Super Bowls (you could argue the game against the 49ers as well). Only five people have won two or more Super Bowl MVPs. Starr, Bradshaw and Montana are in the hall of fame, the fourth is Brady, so Manning probably gets in. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  11. X2. I read somewhere (I think hunting public) the following analogy about a dog and deer's scent sense vs humans. We a person walks into a house with a freshly baked cake, we smell cake. When a dog smells it, it smells flour, eggs, vanilla extract, etc. So not only more sensitive but also able to discretely process combinations. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  12. Congrats. Your daughter is beautiful. My wife had planned for both our sons. The night before our first was probably the longest night of our lives. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  13. Luke Walton was 39-4 coaching the warriors. I think that about says it. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  14. My old man took the first buck of his life, a decent 6 or 7 out in East Hampton today. Unfortunately he did it with a Camry. He's fine, Camry has seen better days, deer dead on contact. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  15. I use tapatalk and am through fine. Sounds like the main site has been hit with a cross site scripting attack based on the descriptions above. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  16. Our two labs (not exactly pups), Pepsi and Ikea, guarding the fireplace for santa Christmas Eve. Crooked photo for some reason. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  17. Great year for experience, ok from a take perspective. Moved in the middle of the season that threw a monkey wrench into plans. Took two plump does on back to back days during bow. Straight through the heart for the second one, fastest pileup I have ever seen. Passed a fair amount of young bucks. Had three encounters with the mature buck I was chasing on my property. One was after legal shooting hours working a scrape and bossing around a spike. Another he had a choice of going right or left (towards me) and chose the right path for him and the wrong for me. Called him in for the final encounter. Needed him to take one more step to get a shot that he never did. Eventually he realized no doe was there and boogied off. Never saw him live after that. Freezer is somewhat full with the two does and leftover fish from the summer. Would have love to take a buck to top it off, but I would take those encounters over punching a tag on a young buck any season. Heart still races thinking about it. Season died off after firearms season started, which is typical for my area (close to the city and lots of pressure). Saw a few young does and that was about it. All the young bucks I passed are probably in someone else's freezer. I hunt solo, don't know anyone else that hunts in my circle of friends or family, and just want to say it is a pleasure to share the woods on this forum with other like minded people for the Fall. Merry Christmas to all and see you for the turkey opener. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  18. 2 inches fresh powder last night in 3G turned a work day into a vacation day. Out for a long sit in the quiet. Expectations are low but it is beautiful out. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  19. I haven't done it myself, but I think the meat eater crew posted a video on packing and flying out game. You might check their YouTube page to see if their tips are there. Good luck. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  20. Heard a shot on neighbor's property. At least someone got lucky and something was moving. Nada from where I sit. Hopefully something stumbles my way. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. Out in 3g after getting house prepped for Christmas. Sitting acorns with some good sign in the snow. Crunchy walk in probably spooked a bunch but pleasant last regular season sit. Freezer has a little room so this may be a brown and down hunt. Good luck to all trying to get a last day score. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Listen to any tips Moog gives you. He pointed me in the direction two summers ago and was extremely helpful. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. Out yesterday am and this pm. Long story short, I have rights to hunt private land associated to my homeowner's association. Yesterday morning chased off a trespasser in full blaze orange in the dark. Dude was hunting with a firearm easily 200 feet from houses. Today spotted someone else stumbling around the property under arm, no orange, no back tag and the craziest outfit I have ever seen in the woods (could have been PJs). He boogies as soon as I start walking towards him. I think this might explain lack of sightings over the last week. Might as well hop on public. On the hunting front, got a few nice quiet hours in the woods both days. Nothing spotted but this afternoon in the snow was beautiful. Great late season scores on the board this weekend. Congrats to all successful hunters. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  24. Check the town of south Hamptons government website. I have hunted East Hampton in the past and if I recall correctly there were several town ordinances with which you had to comply. I could be wrong but I believe I needed a landowner permission form on me (special east Hampton form), the landowner needed to own enough property and there were day / time restrictions certain times of the year (no weekends etc). I am guessing south Hampton may have something similar. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  25. Completely dead for afternoon watch. One squirrel. Nearly hit a doe and fawn on drive home coming out of my neighbor's driveway. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
