scouting some land yesterday had a tick on me.Its still warm.They are still there.Part of being in the woods.If someone is scared of ticks then WII makes a big game hunter that people can do from their living room. Had mosqitoes and flies around me the other day too.But what bothers me more is the carpenter ants that crawl down you shirt collar when in stand.Then trying to get it out of there without hardly moving and not freaking out not exactly knowing what it is.

fantail: I have been to happy valley quite a bit.i like to go there to take a break from bow during southern teir bow season.I had the opportunity at a nice 8pt but couldnt seal the deal.Seen a lott of doe and had a yearling doe 10 yrds from my son and i once.I do a lott of squirll hunting there too. My son took a nice 8 pt from some state land up in jeferson county.Was his first 3 hours ever hunting in the woods.20yd heart shot with the 50cal ML.Have to dig up some pics. Those are some nice deer you got there.

i was feeling the same thing till today.Only little fork horns.Then i saw some 8's chasing does.Now i am excited.Was seeing nothing!!!seat time now baby. Weather has had them holed up too.

had a spike come into it once.Its hit and miss.Curosity mostly.

I make my own asat out of desert camo NBC suits.The british style works good.I use them for a season then get a new chemical suit fro the next season.Use sneaky leafs on the suit.Nothing sees me or at least yet. During gun i just wear orange.And alott of it.When in the tree i use my leafy suit that slips over the orange jacket. When it snows out i use my white Tyvec suit that i color in an ASAT theme.It works awsome.i could sneak up on an eagle in that suit in the snow.

Btw.The deer in my woods are probably running in circles chasing my scent trails by now.LOL.Have been leaving them all week.At all my different stands.And i have only sat in one twice so far.LOL.

I take a peice of clothes line about 2 ft long and tie it around my boot.I dip the string in the scent every 70 yds or so.Do this up to the line i want them to walk.Then i put a pill bottle with cotton in it that i saturate the cotton with the scent,in a shooting lane that i want them to stop.I put usuall 2 bottles out in two seperate shootng lanes. I also put scent wicks about 100 yds from my stand in a cross wind taht might attract the buck to it.That wick is on the trail i walk with the trailling string with scent to my stand.That whay when it walks to that wick it will follow the scent to my other scent bottles.Than thwack. In theory this works.Hasn't yet this season.The bucks i see are already chasing a doe.

I practiced off my house to see today in about 20mph wind gusts.didn't affect my arrow much.Then got in the woods and wind settled right down.That was NICE.Turned into a nice afternoon. the tree is what bothers me with wind.The swaying back and forth.Dont even like being in a tree with a gun when it is windy.I got some stands in some huge maples that dont sway for that kind of day.

I shoot two arrows at once with rage BH's.They have gernaide tips.Then i can just wing hail marry's.And i still miss!!!

without the possibility of shooting you wont have the buck feever like you would have the opportunity to shoot.Just knowing it is "play" you wont be shaking like you would as if you were about to harvist it. I have seen many deer during off season and i could just sit there and watch them with out ever feeling the butterflies i do like when i see a deer during season when i am hunting them.

I know i would never have the opportunity to shoot it again.I would consider a 6pt a trophie right now.So i would shoot it and watch the glow on my kids faces when i hung it in my garage and let them take pics with it. Its funny how all these people that have the oportunities bash on the pewople that dont have them.Like they should just let it walk to let the neighbor shoot it and wait around for a bigger one.Hahaha.funny.

sleet here now rain.I froze my WET ass off this morning.Now its raining and WINDY!

thats what i use instead of buying the Scent Killer brand.If it will kill skunk stink it will kill anything.

i have some nice spots down in connetcuit hill but thats almost 1.5 hours from me.I do opening weekend of gun down there and next yr going to do alott of bowhunting there.Just camp for the weekend.
