wow.good thing he is ok.

Shot my first buck with a bow high behind the front shoulders.It droped right there.It started to crawl away on its front legs.I was in my climber.I had to drop my bow and geer and un harness and all that jazz and climb down.It felt like a lifetime watching this deer suffer while i was climbing down.i finally got down and started to go to it and take out my knife out of my pouch but it wasn't in my pouch.So i had to arrow it.I shot it again at an angle toward the lungs and heart trying to hit both.I sat there and watched it die.When he breathed you could see the blood and steam come out of the wound.He just starred at me as i him.He took about 3 minuits to expire,as the breaths slowly got slower.It was an experiance not excactly like slitting the throat but none the less it was something that still felt weird. I have barried pets and finnished of birds by ringing thir necks but nothing compared do that time i watched that deer breath its last breath.Its just the way it looked at me.Like it was thankfull but scared all at the same time.

I would rather use an orange vest on the antlers.Some people see a rack and go stupid and shoot.

How many acres is the land? Is it a bedding area?If not,where is the closest bedding area? If there is enough land then you cna make it a bedding area and put a little plot in there.But you have to grow a lot to do all that.Its worth it in a way because it will bring them there but then your neighbors will also bennifet.All that work so they can shoot it on the way in or out?Im in the same boat.Got 7 acres and next year i am adding some food for them.But at least 6 of it is all bedding and apples.They are already in there but i have to hunt my neighbors land on the outside of mine since i have the beds.Well next yr.I cant hunt his.Soo i have to grow something in front of my box blind.And hope for the best. If you have a big enough aea i would build a box blind.Like a shanty on stilts.Get in shut the doors and sit in a chair.Not quite hunting but hey it is nice when you want to go just out back and sit and have the chance to shoot a deer in comfort. Grow some corn or something in the clearing and build the box blind stand over looking that.

I am a dick.I don't care.People know i would bend over backwords for my fanmily and freinds.But when they do something they knew not to do and they coulda easily prevented their selves from doing it then they can deal with their own concenquences.It was an illegal kill with out the tag on hand to begin with.

Week?Hahaha.this whole season has been nuts!!!last year i froze my but off everyday on watch.This year i have had to walk in the woods with my climber and no shirt on.LOL.Saplings rubbing against my bare skin leaving my odor trail all the way there.Maybe thats why i saw so many single does those times. Yep, wont be ice fishing before christmas on the Pond this year.

I agree.Look at the neck.Looks kinda like a shot hole but look closely.Looks like road rash right there.And the neck is stiff at a strange angle too.

I think after just blasting away deer in spotlights or over bait piles would get dissapointing after about the first 10.Definatly not like hunting i am sure.I would get sick to my stomach knowing that one of those could be a monster buck next season.I like killing deer but i couldn't do it unless i was getting some pretty pennies.

i herad no 10 shots from daylight to 10 am thanks giving day.Even though sometimes i can sit and never get bored and sit almost all day sometimes i felt like going to the house and stalking on the walk back.As soon as i got down it was like i pushed a button.Was like 30 shots between the time i got down and the 30 min walk back to the house.All many miles away so it wasn't from me jumping anything to the neighbors..But proves the theory on 10 o-clock beeing a good time to be in stand and not going in. I usually sit till 11:00 for that reason and the fact that if there is a nice buck around i don't spook him to a neighbor to shoot.

No rut this year.They decided to skip a population multiplation this year so the dec gave out less doe tags.The deer all got together and planed it out.Told you they were smarter than you thought.

i pee in the scrapes i see to wake them up. Had a doe spook once when she smelled my pee.I peed in a spot i wanted a deer to stop on the trail.She came thru then stoped.She sniffed and jumped then looked around.then went to going right back to walking.I wasn't taking does at the time. I used to do the water bottle thing.Got pee on my hand once and said the hell with this.Started googling it and found the big thread on Bowsite on peeing in scrapes.So i tried it.It works.deer cant tell if the urine is human or another kind of animal.

Blinds rock.Just make sure you put out some orange on it this time of year if its a pop up blind.I sit in tree tops of some trees cut for fire wood.Not as conceiling but works and its free.Going to get a good pop up for next year.I want one that has addequite room for bow hunting.I use rage BH's so i didn't use a pop up this yr.Might just switch to a fixed next yr since my son will be 12 and wants to hunt archery.Blinds are so much saffer and easier to hunt out of for a young kid.
