My doe from yesterday - moment of impact!
Northcountryman replied to Steuben Jerry's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Very cool , congrats !! How did you do that ? -
What do you mean the seat set ? How do you adjust that ? Yes , I do have the gear bag , Strap and safety harness and practiced today with . The back packing part seems ok as I wear it kinda high but I’m wondering if I should shove the cables in all the way cuz I’m worried they’ll drag branches as I’m hiking in

Yes , Ive practiced 3times now , including today . I incorporated the safety harness / lifeline in to my climb today and setup fairly well now . Still , I’m a little worried cuz I’ve never done it in full hunting regalia along with gun. Not only that , some of The vets in my club have recommended I carry a ratchet strap in too and attach that after getting up to my set height for additional support / security so I wanna do that in daylight at least once prior to doing in the early am dark

Hey Guys , so , I’ve been doing ALOT of scouting for the past month, tryin to get set for opening day ( this Saturday !! Can’t wait !!!) , and , have come up with a few good spots to try . One of them is my super set spot in which I have already put in a good n Sturdy ladder stand , and , I have a few other spots with pins marked to potentially, set up my climber . Thing is , I’ve never actually used my climber I a hunting situation so I’m a bit apprehensive about using it for the first time ever for a morning hunt where I have to do the setup In The dark . I think it would be more prudent to do a few Midday/ afternoon Hunts w it first where I setup in daylight to make sure it’s done properly ; then, with time , so ahead and use it for an early morning hunt . What do you think? Thanks

Decoys
Northcountryman replied to Northcountryman's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Yeah , I definitely understand their efficacy during bow to draw them in closer once seeing it , but , for rifle , does it really add to your chances of success? Decoys are usually positioned in an area that’s fairly open right ? And if a buck spies the decoy , it’s most likely already close enough for a decent shot with a rifle , but , not necessarily with a bow -
Voting Irregularities

I’ve noticed you have a very low opinion of Giuliani and , was wondering why . I don’t know much about him , honestly , except that he was mayor of NYC back in the day and was very popular when he left office , didn’t he ? -
I think what concerns many about mask mandates is what it may lead to , which is , a relinquishing of Their individual liberties ; freedoms that , once given up , may never come back . Historically , it has always started small ,chipping away at our freedoms one piece at a time , and is almost always well intentioned , at least initially . But , once the govt is granted that power , it tends to set a precedent that subsequently, leads to relinquishment of more individual liberties by the citizenry and more power acquisition by the govt. I Do agree with you that mask wearing should be a no brainer and don’t understand the reasoning of those that throw a fit about having to wear one . However , I cringe at the idea of the government stepping and enforcing it . Would this lead to the creation of an entirely new branch of the executive called the “ Mask Enforcement Division “ ? IMHO , Mask wearing should be regulated at the local level and by individuals and businesses , not the government!!

I can’t believe she actually said that lol -
Great article . I’m wondering : will we suffer the same fate as Rome , ultimately , as a result of liberalism run amok ?

When and How to use Vocalizations
Northcountryman replied to Northcountryman's topic in Deer Hunting
Ok , cool , electronic calls ? You mean the phone app where it’s prerecorded ? -
Hey Guys , with opening day now just a week away , I’m starting to get my plan together for success , and , was wondering whether I should bring my grunt tube and Doe can with. I’ve used them before many times , but never felt like they added to my success. Not sure if I’m even making the calls right , especially with the grunt tube . Do you think calls are even necessary Or, effective during rifle Anyway? My Grandfather and Uncle never used them and they had reasonable success Over the years ? Just trying to Figure out if it’s even worth the trouble , Thanks

Decoys
Northcountryman replied to Northcountryman's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Really , nice , and did you use them during bow , rifle or both? I’m definitely gonna go snag one then and check it out ; even if it doesn’t get me one , I’d be interested in seeing how they react lol . -
Rolling back everything Obama did is a good thing and Probably wouldn’t take long considering he did next to nothing IMHO. I’m not sure what you mean about” who needs environmental protection” though ; are you saying that Republicans are against it and if so, what makes you say that ? Is your point The fracking thing ?
