Agreed. My router and base unit would be only one wall and 75' away. There would be one maple tree in the way which in the summer would cut the signal some.. how much I don't know. Was hoping someone had a similar system could provide some insight on the wireless range.

If it's 55 and over, I'm for it. Just turned 55, lol

I've thought about burying the wire in conduit. I might go a wired systems and just put the house cams out for now, then in the spring run the cables to the shop. I'd do it now, but I've got some drainage issues, and those will be addressed this spring.

The lorex claim line of sight of 500' plus. They do offer a signal booster for there system.

I've been looking at the blink. But the low temp rating isn't good. These have to be outside. Not sure if temps go lower if it just stops working, or if it damages the camera.
-
Thanks.. that makes a lot of sense. Great tip.

Just looked at the HF. I'd be cautious. No mention if 720p or 1080p. I wouldn't go with anything less than 1080. I want to read the plate# or see face clearly at a longer range.
-
I either seen it on the lorex sight, or when I called them for more info the tech said so. I've looked at so many systems my head hurts.

Ya, I've taken the night owl off my list. The lorex wireless (not full wireless) IR system is looking good, but it's a lot more $. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Well my phone will work somewhat by the shop b4 data kicks in, but my phone doesn't have a antenna sticking out of it.
-
I've been looking at the lorex full wireless, but I've read that the 4month battery life is based on only 2-4 events a day. I've got more turkeys and deer walking around. I'd be swapping out batteries ever month at the longest. Hell, just me coming and going well be more than enough to zap the batteries.

Looking to get a security camera system. Lot of different types of systems out there. One thing I noticed is some cameras min low temp is not low enough. Looking at this type. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/night-owl-4-channel-4-camera-indoor-outdoor-wireless-1080p-nvr-surveillance-system/5824304.p?skuId=5824304 Needs to be wireless as my shop is 75' away from the house, and the wired systems cables are not weather rated. Yes, most wireless cameras need to be plugged in to a outlet, but there not wired to the base system. There are some truly wireless cameras, but I don't want to be swapping out batteries all the time. What system do you have and what's the pros and cons? Not looking for ADT or anything like that. Don't want the monthly fees.

Congrats. What a Xmas gift.

I can remember mom's lasagna. Wow was it good. Sounds like a fantastic New tradition to honor and remember your grandparents. I never knew my grandparents. The last one passed in '67 when I was 3 yrs old.

It's got to be done by now.... Where's the finished pic's?

Ok. It's too early for dinner, so when's lunch?

Congrats on the new home.

Your wife must know mine. One bank account. Nothing hidden. But she loves her cash. It's not like I limit her spending. Heck, she makes more than me... Lol

No. We're both don't like all the bells and whistles. Her last Jeep was a Cherokee limited 75th anniversary addition. Had a full length sunroof. I think in 3 yrs we opened it 5 times. Had nav too. Used it once, lol. We paid for those options we never used. Her new Grand Cherokee is a Larado. The only options she wanted were cold weather package, which includes heated seats and steering wheel, and remote start. She also wanted the auto lift gate. I searched for weeks looking for one that wasn't loaded to the gills. Finally a local dealer call me with and one had just come in with what she wanted. Went and dickered on the trade-in and sticker on new one without her knowing. She thought we were going out to dinner for my birthday, but Instead I pulled into the parking lot. She knew right away what I did. At first she wasn't happy, but obviously, that didn't last long. Lol.

She just got her gift. A 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Kicker is I bought it on my birthday. Oh well... She's happy.

I read it as "such firearm" meaning singular. So... Do I need a $1m policy for each firearm? If so, mine will be shipped to a buddy in Maine.

And I was going to invite you to my furniture showroom for a free couch. -
Thanks guys. I know the building inspector well. Our code is 12” deep. I'm going to go with the 3/4". As far as any propane co. coming and moving the tank and installing a new line for nothing, that's wishful thinking. Got several prices already. My nephew owns a mini, so digging the trench is easy and free.

First, yes this will be inspected and pressure tested. Recently purchased a home with a 330 gal above ground propane tank. Tag on tank says manufacturered in 1988. House was built in '87.. I want to move the tank. The only thing running on propane at this time is kitchen stove/oven. However I want to change the boiler next yr to a direct vent LPG. I also want to add a 10k stand by generator. 1500 SQ foot single story home. Trying to figure out what size line to run. Going to use home-flex underground line(not the CSST) with pre bent risers. Trench will be 18" deep, with no traffic except lawn mower.

I'm not discounting the fact that loose powder has been used for yrs, and very successfully. And I realize there are speed loaders I can load up and bring in the field. I do that now with the pellets. I guess I've used pellets successfully for yrs, and like the ease of use. I really don't have the time to work up a load with loose powder. I've got it dialed in to where I'm happy with it. Last two shots were almost touching at 100 yrds.
