  1. This works great. It's a great option when you can't check the traps often.
  2. I agree with taco... somewhat. Don't use a regulator to adjust the flame. Use a needle valve. The adjustable regulator is a higher pressure regulator used for a turkey fryer. I may work, but a safer route is a needle valve. Lots of info out there. Google needle valve for propane smoker, and you can read for days. Don't worry about a little smoke escaping from the door. Definitely keep the exhaust wide open. You want clean smoke, thin blue smoke, TBS, is what your looking for. Don't soak your chips. Make foil pouches with chips inside, and poke holes in the foil. The reason they manufacturers say to soak the chips is because they end up igniting if there dry. U may have to raise the burn pot some. I changed my burn pot to a small cast iron skillet. Worked a lot better. I ended up ditching the burn pot and did the mailbox mod. You can Google that too. With a few simple mods and a little time, these smokers are a workhorse putting out some fantastic Q. Have fun with the new smoker.
  3. I like it. However ... I could see someone stealing the dummy cam to get rid of the evidence, but once they realize it's fake, there going take a closer look around for the real one. Using a old defunct cam that they wouldn't know is junk at the time my have them taking that and getting out of there without taking a closer look for the working one. But something is better then nothing.
  4. Good god, it's got it's own zip code...
  5. Think he knows that first compound was a tad short on draw length?
  6. Look for a #22 or larger Hobart/globe grinder. I've put 1000's of # of venison, pork and beef through mine over the yrs. Can't stop 'em..
  7. Very nice. Yrs ago I got it in my head to make squirrel sausage. So, I started hunting. Over 3 or 4 weeks I got 23 tree rats. IIRC, I around 3 or 4 # of boned out meat. Mixed it with some pork and spices, and make some Damm good sausage. Not the easiest or the best use of time, but it was fun.
  8. I'm not gonna try one. Hell, after a day working, a .22 rifle hurts. LOL.
  9. Congrats. Fun critters to watch. What's a otter pelt going for these days?
  10. Look into rescue originations near you. Got our last two from them.
  11. Not sure if it's 100% legal, but I've heard of some meeting in Vermont to do a private sale. Was told VT doesn't have background check for private sales. No I haven't done this, but I'd consider it.
  12. You answered your own question. Taxes... 2:60 in my area
  13. Waze works best in areas with higher volumes of traffic. The more users in your area, the more accurate and up to date the info is. Assuming 511 works the same way?
  14. I use Waze. Works great. I'll have to try this out sometime.
  15. Great name for a Great looking pup.
  16. They are definitely not too friendly if cornered. Had more than one coon dog get into a tussle with a large coon after a few .22 rounds and come out of it needing stitches.
  17. Didn't read all of the responses, but I vote Spudnick... Why, well Because we lost Spud this month. Congrats on the new pup.. watch him for a few days. A name will come to you. I had Spud for two weeks before I named him. Couldn't figure out a name. One morning he did something, and I instinctively said what a "Spud"... it fit his personality to a T. What a great looking pup. I'm a little jealous. Been struggling with the loss, and the "want" to fill the void...
  18. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the info.
  19. I really want to meet you at some point. Really think we're brothers from a different mother, and went to different highschools together. Lol
  20. If you really want to impress... Where's Jimmy Hoffa.
  21. Interesting. I'm looking for 40'. Not sure if that's realistic unless I spend a few G's, lol... Hence this post.
  22. I'll admit.. some were harder than others. Those partially, or mostly obscured we're harder to pick out, but some, even the level 3 we're quite easy. However, I highly doubt a deer or turkey would have picked out any of those unless they moved.
  23. Since we've bought the place in Sept, I've caught 4 different vehicles on my deer cams coming up to the shop. I've personal stopped two, and they "claimed" to have taken a wrong turn. Ummm,. It's a driveway, not a road. Doesn't even look like a road. We've got a shared driveway. Wife and I own the whole drive. However, 150' of the drive is shared by the neighbors who have a right of way. Our place is beyond their house. Now she started renting it out as a air b&b. We've since added several posted and no admittance signs where there drive cuts off. Last week I had several people walking around my shop as if it's there own. I told them it private property. They didn't care at first until I said I'm calling the state troopers. They left then. Lol. I've since talk to the owner, and she said she would let future renters know the boundaries. But it continues to happen. I might have to start shooting a few hundred rounds of various calibers around 8am in the mornings. That might result in some negative reviews which would make the owner try harder, but I really don't want to be a asshat neighbor..
