  1. Going to bed WAS the second thing.
  2. Thanks everyone. Closing went off without a hitch. Was a long day yesterday. Moved in a few things after the closing. Finally went to bed around midnight.
  3. Thanks everyone. Didn't get much sleep last night. Clock seems to be moving really slow.
  4. Wife and I have been looking at this property since last July. Put in a offer, but it was rejected because it was contingent on selling out current home. Fast forward to this August... Our home sold and we're in a temporary rental. Undeliverably, the property was still available. Made a low-ball offer, and it was accepted.... 8 acres, 1400 sqft home with a two car attached garage. Best part...1600 sqft heated shop . Closing tomorrow @ 3. Hopefully I didn't jinks myself. Drove up there this evening, and there was a nice 16" spread 8pt in the lawn.
  5. 48 here in Columbia county. Had the fan in the window. Needed to snuggle a little closer to the misses this morning.
  6. Didn't need a survey to tell me what's plainly obvious.
  7. I did have pics, but they were early on during the digital camera craze. Thousands of pics on a PC hard drive gone when the thing self destructed. Shot a small 8 pt on opening day in the mid 90’s. Buck was in open hardwoods, and was avoiding thick areas. Shot it at 30 yrds when I realized why I didn't like the thick stuff. There was a full length aluminum arrow sticking out the side of his neck. Broadhead was im bedded in the bone, but must not have had the energy to paralyze him.
  8. Shot several over the yrs. Worse one was a "slightly" off Texas heart shot. The first shot was by some idiot with a recurve, wooden arrow tipped with a bear razor head. I shot it a a couple weeks later with the rifle. I was filling a DMP, and realized after, it was a buck that lost it antlers due to the arrow I recovered when field dressing. It "was" a very nice 10 pt. I gaged at the smell. It wasn't pleasant.
  9. Maybe someone was using them as trail markers. Hard to miss those... Lol
  10. Same here. Went driving around yesterday evening and seen bucks from spikes to respectfull 8pts. All still in velvet. It will be like a light switch tho. Velvet on, click, velvet off. Lol.
  11. Looks like your having a great time. Love the moosehead area. Most times I was in that area was on a snowmobile or ice fishing, but visited a couple times during the summer.
  12. Think I'm up to 10 since 1979... Browning recurve, hand me down. Hoyt recurve. Browning deluxe nomad. First new bow I owned. XI.. can't remember the model XI legacy. Think that was the model PSE Durango XL. Got this one while attending the PSE school. Hoyt magtec Hoyt hypertec PSE stinger PSE fang.
  13. Beautiful area. Enjoy your vacation. Pics are always welcome.
  14. I'm more concerned you know this much about applying, makeup.....
  15. Sorry to hear about pops. Sounds like he was a fantastic husband, father, and friend.
  16. I think WD40 is a better penetrate then a lubricant. I find the best lubricant to be Fuid Film
  17. That's fantastic. Also happens to be the yr I was born.
  18. I've only seen one so far. It was the other day, and my first thought was to find a grasshopper to feed it. Great memories.
  19. Maybe the reason the woods are so quiet when you're on stand is because your really a Squatch? Sooo.. maybe they do exist.. humm.
  20. Wondering if this thread is going to get as heated as the one last fall. Lol. Think that one caused a member or two to leave the forum.
  21. Seen some poults that were the size of a quail yesterday, then a few miles down the road they weren't much smaller than the hens.
  22. Very little rain today in 4u. See some the flooding on the news. Amazing how fast some areas were flooded.
  23. Another vote for the pellet grill. Little more costly up front, but I absolutely love mine. Had it for about 5 yrs now. I can start a brisket around midnight @ 200* and bump it up to 250* for the rest of the cook when I get up in the morning. Very versatile. Can smoke, grill, bake, all on one unit. I do love my stick burner tho.. just need to babysit her throughout the day.
