    This is just a vent. Wife went in at 11 for surgery supposed to be an hr got an update at 1 its looking like during the exploritory surgery they found something wrong and notified me it was going to be another hr or more. Man i hate waiting. Especially with her surgery history not being great and having complications all the time. Sorry just needed to vent.

    Im currently looking at the handi rifle,henry and cva single shots for my daughter. Henry is by far the most price wise just havent been able to get my hands on one to look it over. i found the cva with a synthetic stock for 249 drilled and tapped brand new. And the handi rifle ive seen from 250-350 with the wood stock. I prefer the handi i have one in 30-06 and it shoots great.

    Ide say henry i have the golden boy and it is very smooth. My sons baby sitters husband has one of the large calibers and he loves it.

    My season ended this morning. Saw nothing head wasnt in it today anyways, between just moving and now wife needs surgery tomorrow morning. Not a horrible season wish i got out more. Sat maybe 10 times between all the seasons. Congrats to all who filled tags this year. Next year my daughter goes with me and hoping to get a new lease.

    I prefer country boy, i lived rural my entire life,worked blue colar jobs, hunt fish. I tell my siblings im a country boy not redneck.

    I have the handi rifle in 30-06. I love that gun looking for 270 myself in that. But we looked the other day at our local shop and she didnt like any bolt action she kept going back to the single shots. They had a cva in .243,but im keeping my eyes peeled for a handi rifle in 243, 270 possibly a 30-30.

    It will happen for you. This was the 3rd house we put an offer on 1 refused offer,2nd got through inspection and needed to be completly rewired come to find out so we backed out, this one has had a few hiccups along the way but we got it done.

    Thanks guys. My list of what i want to do has started. Just going to enjoy it until spring and start on a couple projects that need to get done by next winter.

    So ive been with my wife for 10yrs now when we first got together we had nothing, both working crap jobs, shit credit. But with the kids we kept pushing ourselves to get better. We bought a crap trailor for cash so we had no rent and managed to get alot of our debt payed off. Wife worked up to admin. in her company and i switched jobs and worked my way up a little bit as well. So this year we made the decision to get our forever home and we found it on a little lake in our town. We dont have a lake view but the view out the living room is my favorite. Sorry for the story. Maybe hoping if it helps someone on here that is in the same situation i was 10 years ago. That with hard work you can get what you want. Not easy but it can happen. Thanks for reading.

    Well my season is done and i hope everyone with tags left gets a chance to fill them. Im moving into my house this weekend. Took 10 years of blood sweat and tears to get to this point. so i will be ok not filling any tags and missing the last weekend. Good luck to those going out.

    Even in that caliber? Ive got one in 30-06 it kicks less then my friends bolt action. Ill have to just have her hold a couple see what she feels comfortable with.

    Just got done talking to her. She asked me why not a single shot. I told her most people like having the ability for a quick 2nd shot if needed. She replied with i guess i need to choose a good shot. So i will show her every option but looking like single shot will be the way.

    Dont dissagree. But she is not the most cordinated person so i can see her struggle with a lever action some how. But maybe. Im deff liking everything ive read on the 7mm-08. Just never seen one in action no one i use hunts with one. Told my wife i might have to let a synthetic into my gun cabinet so she has a light enough gun.(nothing wrong with them i personally dont like the looks)

    My daughter told me she wants to gun hunt next year with me. So i said ok but realized i dont have a decent caliber rifle for her. I do have a mossberg 500 but she has a hard time holding it. My single shot in 30-06 fits perfec but it does kick for her. She can handle some kick she shoots my single shot 20 with 6 shot all day. So what are your thoughts leaning towards .270,.243,7mm-08. Dont have deep pockets so looking either another h&r handi rifle, savage axis,mossberg patriot or used one if one pops up. Thoughts?

    I heard today from a guy down to work that the hunter that fell broke his back pretty bad. I dont know the details but apparently he new the emt that arrived first and said it was easy to tell it was broke.

    Put in a couple make shift enclosed blinds for dad and the kids at my current leadr. And trying to find a 30-50 acre lease closer to home and easier for my dad to get to.

    Well i had 14 cross onto the lease right at 430 at about 200yards off so no shot. Dad had 2 without a shot come in.
