  1. we checked on the boat this weekend now that the water has gone down. But the boat is gone. Was there from duck hunters that used it years ago but they no longer hunt there and mustve taken it with them. So for now are limited to using a casting pole or wading if they go in the pond. We are planning to try using a treestand skirt that Corey bought and make a duck blind out of it. Gonna try it this weekend see how it goes. trying not to invest any more into this until we see how it goes there. Ponds mght be froze over by then and not even worth hunting. We will def not duck hunt til 2nd season which starts Dec 3rd. Real disapointed they took away those two goose days that overlapped with the late duck season.
  2. lol. We didnt do bad considering my hunting buddy had hip surgery and i got covid all in April. We keep a list all season for things to do for the next year. "add it to the list" . And if I dont write it down it doesnt exist. lol Next up is end of July trail cut, then first week in August food plots. So for the next month or so we are done and fishing while cameras soak and we see whats out there. I enjoy doing all this esp since theres been so many cooler days.

  9. Got out today in perfect weather for woods work. Did some treestand work. Rewrapped some shooting rails, cut some areas to setup better shooting lanes, put out 7 trail cams, put a new brace on one of the stands, cut a trail and blocked the trail to help divert deer. And the drain I worked on last weekend I def got open. The pond was way down and the drain can now be set. Clover in the trails looks great. Good day out there. We should be done now til end of July to cut all the trails and then the first weekend of August do plots. Then first weekend in Sept all of our final stand work. 12. Awesome. We did.frost seed some clover and it has taken well. It did last near too in spots we did in the trail. The one spot that we planted that didn't get flooded last year the deer ate it to the ground. Lol. But we are looking to do 3 small kill plots and that larger one in the hay field. 13. This is the area we plan to do winter peas and some radish. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  14. I've got a bunch of different things. The biggest area I plan to do winter peas and radish which is on a spot that is regularly hayed. Then for the others I have shot plot style mixes. Last year only one area worked out great but we had sooo much rain the other one got flooded out. This year we are looking to do the same two spots, plus the hayfield edge and also a trail area near a stand. If they don't work out we will prob just frost seed clover in these areas instead for next year. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  15. Cant spray in my spot. But most likely will just till it and plant it and hope it takes well. The soil we have will grow anything. It's right by all the black soiled "muck" lands. And was considering doing it early cause it stays pretty moist there, but gonna go and do other work this weekend. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  16. That's a good idea. Might just do that. Gonna pend on weather and time . Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  17. We are planning to cut trails the last weekend of July and then drag and plant first weekend of Aug and second if needed. Cant spray there . Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

  23. plus ive got a three day weekend and all three days the wind is 15-25+ MPH which blows me off the lake. Def loving the cooler weather for those chores. But if we get stands done there is one less thing to do later and we can concentrate on the plots. Also might put out some cams this weekend too whiel we are out there. 3 and a half months til season opener! Plus i like to be done in there and out all of September so really its 2.5 months left to prep.
  24. yeah we are gonna hold off. Just tough to pass on a weekend of 64 degreees and windy! But instead am gonna do all the stand prep we can and wait til end of july/early august.
