Damn, that really sucks. That's a really nice fox. Maybe another taxidermist can fix it for you? Maybe not completely, but at least do a little work to make you happier with it. On a side note, I actually have that same exact mold I think (but with mouth slightly open), so I guess we have the same taste! Mine are from Arizona, so they are little different colored than your NY fox.

When we went in 2012, we donated most of it but brought back some mule deer and antelope backstraps. Thanks to the airlines, the boxes of meat missed our connection and didn't come until over a day later, and the dry ice didn't last that long. Wasn't worth the risk to eat the meat, so we threw it all out. This time we will probably just donate all of it, or give it to the kid we are staying with. By the way, I just checked NY's laws and meat is OK. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8325.html "Meat (without backbone)", not that I will probably bring any back anyway.

I don't know much about cwd, I was just posting the article because I thought it was cool that these guys followed these deer making this long trek. I'm hunting Wyoming in October, but the northeastern part Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally, I usually flip through the McKenzie Catalog to get ideas. You can request a catalog from them and its free. It's something like 500 pages and in color and is great for ideas. The whitetail section is their biggest section. http://www.mckenziesp.com/Catalog-Request-W2C2597.aspx here's the link, just request the Print version. It's free and definitely worth looking at. The online version isn't as helpful in my opinion.

Regarding Excalibur's, I have the Excalibur Vortex (200lb) and love it. My Dad has the Ibex (175lb) and loves it. Their customer service is amazing. They will respond to questions, etc. My Dad's string started to fray after like 50 shots, so I sent them a pic of the string and they overnighted a new one to us, which I was able to change myself. No need for bowshops to work on your Excalibur, you can change strings yourself.

Only 1 way to settle this: Meet at an agreed-upon location and fight each other. One guy gets a compound and the other guy gets a crossbow.

The paper certificate is what you had to carry when crossbows were previously legal in New York. It was a 1 page paper and you just signed at the bottom of it and carried it with you. My Dad and I took the NY archery safety course last year to be able to hunt CT with xbows. We figured we would take the NY incase they made that class the prerequisite for huntings with xbows in NY this year.

Someday I'd like to hunt bear over bait, probably somewhere that gives me a chance at a color phase like Idaho or somewhere in Canada. It's gotta be more exciting than hunting wolves over bait (2 trips, 14 days sitting dark and dark and never seen one yet). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good luck. I've never been there but from what I heard it is underrated when it comes hunting, some nice bucks to be had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

LOL, not anyone I know. No girls, nowhere to live, most of the jobs are pretty boring and repetitive, bad health conditions working in that environment, etc. So why haven't you gone? If your 18 you can get a job out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm well aware of the ND Oil Boom for 2 reasons: 1- Some guys I hunted with in Minnesota work out there (2 weeks on 2 weeks off for around $100k per year). They told me its mayhem out there. Bunch of 18-25 year old guys making $ and testerone flying around. Lots of fights, stabbings, etc. going on in the nightlife there. 2- My aunt (through marriage to my Uncle); her family had a farm in their family for many years in North Dakota. For years oil companies tried to hit oil on their property but couldn't get at it. Finally, about a year or two ago the oil company was able to get at it using different technology. Their family now gets some pretty nice royalty checks now. I'm happy for my middle school aged cousins and my Uncle, but why can't they send me some of the $? lol. -
Awesome buck....what will it score?

But 20 means a 4 year degree in 3 years, which is impressive and why I find it odd these same kids had to move to ND for work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

+1, 20 year olds with bachelor's degrees already. That's impressive. What major? Not sure why they needed to go to ND for a job, when they could have just come down to NYC or Westchester and got a job easily. -

NYS law maker perks

Do they have a chance to make $ the other 6 months? If not, it's not that great of a gig. It's almost like being a teacher who works like 180-200 days per year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
