    For many many years my Dad used an old baby blue Nissan sentra to bring home deer, either on roof or on top of trunk . The car would be half blue and half blood red. Now he has a hitch little trailer to the back of the SUV, other motorists can still see the entire deer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Who cares about the taxidermy bill when you just got those 2 hunts for $100! That's awesome. Not sure I ever seen a moose in velvet like that before

    Id shoot and worry about getting it out afterwards. I got a bunch of friends who don't hunt but I'm sure they would be willing to help drag a bear out. Being in 3N my odds are pretty much 0% of seeing one

    Just throwing this out there off the top of my head. Something along these lines.... 5pts for an archery kill (recurve, compound, xbow, etc.) 3pts for a gun kill (shotgun, rifle, muzzloader, etc.) 1pt for each legal point 1pt for each inch of spread (either inside or outside, and picture must show ruler) Few examples: 8 pointer with a 15" spread shot with a compound = 28 points. 10 pointer with a 15" spread shot with a rifle = 28 points. 6 pointer with a 17" spread shot with an Xbow = 28 points.

    I agree. I had to take a bowhunter ed course to use my xbow in CT archery season. I took the class in NY figuring I would need it anyway for this year. I found the class pretty informative especially the angles of shooting deer with an arrow/bolt

    Thanks for the info. Didn't realize it's around 5 hours away. I only hunt weekends so it's a little too far for me otherwise I would have done it. Thanks again.

    The 243 is plenty for whitetails, antelope and everything smaller out to 400 yards
