  1. I agree. Venison is good, but I'd rather eat filet mignon or porterhouse steaks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No I don't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. But in NY it is considered "new". Many people in NY will own an xbow and nothing else archery-wise, so when they teach their kids and friends how to hunt, it will be with an xbow. When I have kids someday, I will teach them to use an xbow and a gun. Maybe I'm wrong, only time will tell. But I honestly believe compounds will become rare in NY in years to come, just like recurves are now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I honestly believe that crossbow to compound ratio in hunters hands in 15 years or so will be what the current compound to recurve ratio is. Kids will have an easier time getting into xbow hunting, less treestand accidents, shorter learning curve, etc. Just like anything else, technology is improving and people want the next best coolest thing. Look at phones, tvs, and soon to be crossbows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Only 1 taken in 3N, guess my odds are slim lol.
  6. The rope cocker from Excalibur supposedly cuts the weight in half. I have the vortex 200lb, so it's like deadlifting 100lbs, it's not bad at all unless your taking a ton of shots in 1 day. I only hunt from the ground, so no tree stand issues but for people who hunt from tree stands it would probably be easier to cock it on the ground before raising it up and then putting the bolt in after your raise it up to our stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. In CT you need to take a bowhunter ed class, so I took the NY class last year. Maybe NY will just require the bowhunter ed class? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. +1, and the lion was originally from NY, released by DEC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Only negative is all the draws for AZ. You might not get to hunt each year and if you do, it's like. 6-7 day season if you do get oicked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Asesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Like I said before, the cat in the pic looks average size. Maybe a little taller than normal but it's not a giant by any means, pretty skinny Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Too bad you didn't get a pic of the track. The lynx track and bobcat track are very different. A lynx feet are like boxing gloves so they lay down huge tracks compared to a bobcat. But you said 4", a cat track that size is way too big to be a bobcat. A 4" track is a really good sized mt lion. So what is really 4"? Was it spread out because of a mud or snow? I think most bobcat tracks are under 2". Even a young mt lion has a bigger track than a huge bobcat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Looks like an average or below a average sized bobcat to me. Lynx have huge paws and appear taller and bigger than bobcats but are smaller than a bobcat weight wise majority of the time. A good bobcat can go 40+lbs, a good lynx mid 20's. Here's a lynx for reference that was 25lbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The NY laws prevented me, except for 2 years when I got to use the xbow in the late ml season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Wrong! The biggest winner is me! I don't have to buy CT or PA archery tags anymore! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Looks like a high tech compound. My xbow doesn't even have cams! I shoot a recurve xbow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Congrats. You should check out Excalibur's website, they have tons of information and many videos to watch. They also have a forum, etc.
  18. Doubt you'll get 500fps out of An xbow with less than 200lb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You think your better than me and I think I'm better than you. Nothing else to say. Grow up and take it to PM if you want to discuss further, Mrs. Balling. I shot a NY buck in 5 out of the last 7 years. I don't shoot does. I passed a spike this year opening day at less than 10 yards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If you want to discuss more, feel free to PM me. Clearly in your mind, paying for leased land and hunting NY whitetails from a tree stand is the only form of "real hunting". No wonder why you aren't a member of bowsite, where some of the best bowhunters in the world are members. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. So you must be against all the bowhunters out there who go on guided hunts for sheep, bear, caribou, goats, etc. Pope and Young and Boone Crockett call it fair chase. I'll take their word over yours. Chasing cats is more fair chase in my opinion than you sitting in a tree stand hunted over bait (food plot) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Your paying for your kills too. Don't you lease land? Your paying for a better opportunity to hunt. If I leased prime land in NY, I'm sure I would should bigger bucks, but I'm not interested in paying $ to hunt NY whitetails, so I hunt public land or 8 acres behind an old ladies house for deer that feed on bark lol My dad has killed black bears in NY, what's your point? It's black bear. Go kill a grizzly in Alaska DIY, oh wait you can't. That would be illegal. You would need to hire a guide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 3 cats I killed in my life with dogs. 2 in a tree, 1 on the ground. Let me know when you kill one on your own without dogs. Like I said before, I don't care if you hunt from a tree, that's your choice. I would find it boring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. They just had one in westchester. White Plains officials say 94 guns were turned in over the course of three hours during a gun buyback Saturday. Fifty four of the weapons turned in were handguns. People who turned in guns received $25 for antique or non-working guns, $50 for rifles or shotguns, $75 for handguns and $100 for assault weapons. The buyback was part of a statewide program sponsored by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Creative, but ugly as sin lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
