Haha, no way. Way too far away. Don't think I would ever buy land in NY just to hunt on. Not enough species to hunt in NY, and like you said, for the same $ could go on 15 hunting trips! Tons of land in Steuben for sale > http://www.zillow.com/homes/steuben-county_rb/#/homedetails/0-County-Route-108-Hartsville-NY-14806/2115476865_zpid/

Electronic Calls vs Hand Calls

I hunted AZ with a shotgun when calling. Both fox came from behind me and almost ran over my legs. -
Electronic Calls vs Hand Calls

In my opinion its all about calling where there is actually game. I have never called in coyote, fox, or bobcat when specifically targeting them with my foxpro. I close the door to the car quietly, im scent free, i sit for a good amount of time before calling, etc. However, I went to Arizona and made 3 quicks sets and called in 2 fox within minutes. We pulled up on quad, got off, and started calling 2 minutes later. -

public land near Riverhead?

Nice Buck! Isn't Steuben County known for big bucks? I see there is a 46 acre farm for sale for less than $80K, not bad at all.

Buy them for $100 and re-sell for $200! -
If Xbows get approved for archery, I wonder if it would be for all of NYS or would Westchester County & Long Island not allow it?

I'm thinking about booking a 1-day hunt with DC Outdoors in January out in Riverhead. Anyone have any input?

I have no interest in does. I donate the meat when I get a buck n keep the backstraps. I try to get a buck each year. Everyone has their own goals, etc. I get dmp tags each year incase I ever see a Piebald or Albino, never happened yet. I usually give my dmps away toward end of season. Many people don't care to shoot does. I haven't shot one in 12 years. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

You have some monster bucks in your area. Have you killed a lot of big bucks over the years?

Saturday – Hunted private land in Carmel (Putnam County-3N) from dark – 12pm. Didn't see a thing. Had my Dad doing big loops trying to push deer to me. Didn't happen. Then went to Ninham Mountain Public Land, but it was so packed with hunter's and mountain bikers, we left right away. Went to Lockwood Public Land till dark and didn't see any deer. However, I saw a black squirrel about 100 yards away. I see black squirrels in Westchester County and NYC all the time, but never while hunting. Not going to lie, thought about putting a stalk on and sending a lumenok through one. Would definitely make a cool mount. Maybe I'll go back sometime and try to find it again. Sunday – My brother's friend with the food plot in Put Valley bailed out on me. I hunted the afternoon and private land and didn't see anything. Seemed like a slower year than usual. The biggest buck I saw all year was the 4pt I shot opening morning of the gun season. Next up is a trip to Minnesota at the end of the month for a Bobcat.

I work in times square n feel safe but I do think about how easily I could bring anything I want into nyc very easily. I'm honestly surprised more things don't happen. I lived on upper east side for a few years and never seen a crime. I was always out at 4-5am walking home from bars, etc. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

Interesting. Yea, Idaho looks like $2-$3K. 2 Bear areas or western canada like B.C. are $3-$5K for spot n stalk bear hunts.

Wow, interesting stuff about Bob. That's too bad. I never hunted bear, but after getting many of them like you have, do you become very picky as to what size to shoot? I think if I went on a bear hunt it would be to Idaho where they have a spring hunt and the color phase chances are around 50%
