  1. It's time to put Crossbows in Archery Season! That would quiet everyone down.
  2. I been to Burlington once in my life. Its a very weird city. We went to a bunch of bars all weekend long. We had a cab driver who said he was from NYC. We asked him how he ended up being a cab driver in Burlington. His response: "Many bad decisions" I'll never forget that. It was hilarious. That city is a disaster, no offense to anyone from there.
  3. Thanks to the Painkillers/Heroin epidemic, there are tons of zombies walking around.
  4. I'm not sure about camping areas, but plenty of spots close enough to NYC to be 1-day trips. Also plenty of cheap dive motels/hotels near hunting areas.
  5. Here's another place: Sportsman's Den Putnam Plz Shopping Ctr Carmel, NY 10512 845-228-5744 However, I can't vouch for this place. Never had anything done there. I only know of the place because when my grandfather died, we gave them his moose head to display in their store.
  6. Yea, I guess the creator of this blog took screenshots before they all blocked their twitter, facebook, etc. It's getting pretty wild lol. Might take my .357 out of the safe and place it under my pillow haha. Wonder if my neighbors will start giving me dirty looks? lol.

  8. That's awesome. If I remember correctly Vegas and Tampa both have places where you can shoot machine guns also. I remember as a kid my grandpa had a gun with a bayonet on it from WWII. He let me stab a pumpkin with it once lol.
  9. A little off-topic, but, does anybody know someone with a gun that has a grenade launcher attached to it?
  10. Brewster, N.Y. – 12/26/2012 – Today Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C, I) called for the Journal News Newspaper, a Gannett Company, to immediately remove the map. http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/breaking-news-senator-ball-issues-statement-journal-news-gun-permit-map-and-introduces
  11. Where are the Journal News employees in your neigborhood? https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=201650905593228814533.0004d1c39ceef0f9f292a&gl=us&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=40.96953,-73.855591&spn=0.379541,0.222049&t=m&source=embed
  12. I think its great, that people are now posting all the personal information of all of the Journal News employees including stuff about their kids, where they go to school, etc. This is going to get crazy!
  13. People who don't have pistols are worried their houses will be targeting by thieves. People who do have pistols are worried that employers and fellow colleagues will now see they are gun owners and may be viewed differently amongst their peers. This area of NY is filled with anti's. Very different than upstate NY. Many people listed on this map work in NYC with high profile titles for major corporations/firms.
  14. All over CNN, Foxnews, etc. The Journal News, a local paper for counties just north of nyc, posted the names and addresses of all pistol permit holders. People are fighting back by posting everything personal about journal news employees and their families Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  15. This thread can be closed. I gave the vouchers to a family member.
  16. +1. Extremely frustrating seeing nice bucks 60-100yds away or close enough to shoot but behind brush. Simple gun shots. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

  18. Awesome brow points on that buck! Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Awesome thread. Here's a few pics of pics. My Dad in 70's with a catskills buck. He was once went 9 years between seeing bucks! Then a 1993 pic of my dad with his work clothes underneath hunting clothes. He would hunt first hour everyday then go straight to work unless he got a buck. Lastly, my best ny buck. 8pt from 07'. Notice the orange pants. I wore matching jacket n hat, so I was complete head to toe in blaze orange Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  20. My opinion is $8K is way too expensive, unless you only want a giant. Here's another one, in Wyoming As seen on ESPN, Outdoor Channel, etc. http://www.blisscreekoutfitters.com/index.html $3,600 - $5,600 depending on when you go and what you hunt with. Archery Elk Our archery elk season runs from September 1 to September 30. This is the majestic bugle season. Our archery elk hunts are true wilderness experiences and not for the half-hearted hunter. Your physical condition will determine how much your guide can do with you. Our archery elk hunts are 8 days in length.Success varies from year to year. Shooting success at bulls 40 yards or less has averaged around 75% in the past 18 years with the harvest depending on the hunters. We take 4 to 8 bowhunters per hunt. The Wyoming Game & Fish Deparment has 25 "archery only" tags set aside for this area. Archery tags are almost guaranteed. These hunts fill up quickly so book early. Rifle Elk General rifle elk season runs October 1-21. We run 7-day hunts with one or two-hunters per guide. We take 4-8 hunters per hunt, with 5-6 hunters being the average. Hunting will vary from calling in bulls, to glassing and stalking, to still hunting through timber. Lots of horseback riding, day and night, and walking are usually required. On all of our elk hunts we hunt all day long. You will be leaving the base camp in the dark and returning in the dark. Late Season Elk November 1-30 is our late elk season. This is when the big bulls migrate out of the high fall range and out of Yellowstone National Park down to the winter range. It is not uncommon to see herds of 100-200 elk. This is the time of year when the chance of getting a really big bull are high. Success on these hunts is near 100% on 300 B&C bulls.
  21. Who knows? This it a topic to help the OP find out info on hunts. I just did a quick search. I never went on an Elk hunt, but if I did, I wouldnt pay more than $5K. I'd be happy with any 5x5 or bigger. This place is $6K with similar success rates. http://www.saverycreekoutfitters.com/pricing.html
  22. "I did a quick search for you. Found a place for $5K, with near 90% success rates on Rifle Bull Elk that are 4x4 - 6x6 up to 320"."
