  1. Our village always give us a little break on filling our pool this time of year, but had to be notified. By the way, it's pouring here once again.
  2. A bird has the ability to(cycle) an egg daily in an excellent enviroment, where protein is abundant, length of daylight, and ideal stress free enviroments. Not to say a turkey could have the ability to cycle daily egg output in an ideal, but the rule would be every other day. I didn't know about the fertilization delay. Enjoy your input.
  3. They figure if water comes out the tap, it goes down some sewer, storm or sanitary. I don't miss the sewer tax, but still have city water bill, which run around $50 for 3 months. City water is so much easier than well.
  4. One egg every other day. The eggs have to maintain a temp of between 98 and 101 degrees constant, (body temp). If the temp of the embro falls below 98 degrees, it will die, ( even when the hen feeds). It's an all nighter for the hen on the nest. Darkness is a turkeys worst nightmare for preditors. She will also sit there motionless, for hours upon hours, sometimes for a few days, before feeding. One can tell when she has left the nest, because she will be in a different sitting position.
  5. Once they get a few weeks on them, they have a higher chance to survive, the weather conditions, anyways. One advangage of the wet weather, they get to feast on worms, driven to the surface by wet conditions. Large amounts of protein make for strong brood.
  6. No comment, This is a family channel, LOL.
  7. Wing supply on Ebay. Looks like the 2013 model with the 28 LEDs. Opps, my mistake, not the Blackout. The 2013 MP6 Black on their site is $130 + SHIP, but, backordered. Keep looking.
  8. Nice pics! That cam is available for $130, shipping included. Are their better deals on'em?
  9. I believe that some of these paid researcher, need to get out in nature more often and observe.
  10. Picks of power washing the dog when u preform this task?
  11. Corn after corn, yields drop off. They usually cultipack alfalfa-grass seed after it's applied. They may have been applying a insectacide for weavel, although they usually apply that with an biplane here. I've had alfalfa green in less than 2 days, especially after a good rainfall. We're well over the 5 inch mark for rainfall, since last Thursday here.
  12. LOL, You got to be kidding? Deer Season coming, hold on!
  13. I can add some information on the Albion and Medina areas in Orleans county. The Genesee Community College satellite campuses were built with grant money( 1 building each site). I would highly suspect state grant money. This money was pumped in because Orleans is a very depressed county, unemployment rate above 10%, Business shuffle and lower taxed agiculture lands( Farmers are paying some of the highest taxes, just ask them). Orleans also went through a huge reaccessments of properties a few years ago where property owner saw increases, some as high as 50%. The Medina campus is located near a business that is relocating into Niagara county. ( Why? because of more free offerings.) It is also located a few block from, yes a goverment subsides alcohol plant. We just learned this week that a financial firm will be cutting 400 jobs in Albion. The firm oversaw collecting overdue mortgages. Yes, due to the slight increase in the economy, jobs are being lost. The state continues to throw flameable solvents into the fire, without having a real fuel source to keep this fire burning. This program is just more solvent. e Mr. Cuomo, if u really want to do something in your term, start cutting social programs in this state. Stop giving free hand outs to incourage out of state residents to move here to freeload. Tap into the unions that control these school districts and cut. Stop talking this, put a casino on every street corner, payback to the Indian language. (I could write a book!) Start adressing the real issues!
  14. Sorry, I was talking about the tree, lol.
  15. Nice, even a fudge shop. Now, no excuses from the misses, LOL.
  16. I hope that us crossbowmen, and women, are able to take them out this season!
  17. We have had 4" of rainfall here, since last Thursday. To say, the word is wet grounds would be an understatement. Scraped plans for field corn, but going to get some popcorn in by the 10th, hopefully. My pumpkin ground is worked, but held off planting till this weekend, yeh right. We have already had .65 of an inch since 7 am this morning. I'll summer fallow what I don't get planted, and put in more radish, oats, forage corn, and wheat in late August.
  18. Would that be Folgers, LOL. Salada tea, anyone?
  19. Never have been a fan of sprays. I use the method of what the old timers called " summer follow." This is for late summer, early fall planted crops. I'll plow in the spring, disc the ground fairly well, then let it sit until weed seeds germinate and grow. I'll continue to disc new growth right up till the time I'm ready to plant. It also give the ground a rest and the summer time rains, also help work it and make it mellow. I'll use it on any legume, kale, wheat, oats,, forage corn, and radish.
  20. When I entered the Hamburg, PA. location, thought I had died and gone to heaven. One can only hope, LOL.

  22. It all looks real nice. Great wildlife habitat.
  23. Have a Happy Birthday Culver. Boy, what it would be like being 48 again, LOL.
