    Excessive nitrogen in the soil. Commonly found in Legumes and cereal grains. Would like to start dry hay harvest, but........... Snapped pics of the bee in the rain.

    Have to wear knee boots just to get back to the garden. The plow down wheat is headed nicely, where the garden was suppose to be. I think I'll take the profits from the clover hay and buy our produce along the road side stands this year, if I can harvest that. I might get some pumpkins, and pop corn in if I can drain the water that's standing on the surface off. Us "flat landers" (LOL) are suffering right now.

    Crops like corn and soybeans are turning yellow here. May be just as well, I haven't planted yet.

    Our village always give us a little break on filling our pool this time of year, but had to be notified. By the way, it's pouring here once again.

    A bird has the ability to(cycle) an egg daily in an excellent enviroment, where protein is abundant,length of daylight, and ideal stress free enviroments. Not to say a turkey could have the ability to cycle daily egg output in an ideal, but the rule would be every other day. I didn't know about the fertilization delay. Enjoy your input.

    They figure if water comes out the tap, it goes down some sewer, storm or sanitary. I don't miss the sewer tax, but still have city water bill, which run around $50 for 3 months. City water is so much easier than well.

    One egg every other day. The eggs have to maintain a temp of between 98 and 101 degrees constant, (body temp). If the temp of the embro falls below 98 degrees, it will die, ( even when the hen feeds). It's an all nighter for the hen on the nest. Darkness is a turkeys worst nightmare for preditors. She will also sit there motionless, for hours upon hours, sometimes for a few days, before feeding. One can tell when she has left the nest, because she will be in a different sitting position.

    Once they get a few weeks on them, they have a higher chance to survive, the weather conditions, anyways. One advangage of the wet weather, they get to feast on worms, driven to the surface by wet conditions. Large amounts of protein make for strong brood.

    Corn after corn, yields drop off. They usually cultipack alfalfa-grass seed after it's applied. They may have been applying a insectacide for weavel, although they usually apply that with an biplane here. I've had alfalfa green in less than 2 days, especially after a good rainfall. We're well over the 5 inch mark for rainfall, since last Thursday here.
