Lucky they stopped and asked. They would just step out of a car here, and fire away.

Am. was a bust. The pm. had 7 in the field with a big doe at 200 yd. Little far for shotgun, LOL.
-
Am I mistaken or does that look alot like the Wayne county buck.
-
Opening day of his junior big game license. He shoots a 145" typical. I was so proud. I never heard 3 rounds come out of a gun so fast.
-
Just the listing. He's in the 16th edition too, twice.

The silver skin removal is very time consuming. The legs are the worst. It is worth it though in the flavor. Makes better burger too. Took me about 8 hours on the last 130 lb doe, deboning and going through all the meat from steaks to burger. Freezer bags make the job so much easier verses wrapping. Great job on your survival training,. Part 2 is about to begin, LOL.

My sons in it.,145".

Nice. U could still see him. He's nocturnal. But still could slip up with the ladies.

Don't forget about late does!
landtracdeerhunter replied to WhitetailAddict11's topic in Deer Hunting
Eighteen deer in the field last night, with just one 4 pointer. Most, young doe. Boy has he got his work cut out for him, LOL. -
Nice find. Most of this iron is going across the scales. People don't know the value of this older farm equipment, but their loss. The tempered iron of this old equipment is far better than new. My Allis corn planter, from the 50's, is going to be narrowed to 28" rows from 36". Been soaking the parts in pen oil for months in hopes of freedom. I picked up a Ford 1948 8n for parts, but decided to overhaul the motor and restore it, since the rest of the tractor was in nice shape. Got it running, but smoked and had low oil pressure. Always looking for project to pass the winter months.

A very special congrats to U. It's not often that a successful find goes through the blood trail, ask the landowner permission, and come up with a whole deer, looking that good on this site. Somebody up theres looking out fot u. Glad u found your deer!

Caught my first deer, and 8 pt.in this same kind of situation. Started to rain at 8 am, figured I'd grab the gun and went out at 8:03, crossed a ditch, and their he was in the open. I stalked closer to 76 yards and shot. Down he went, I'll never forget it. Yeah, I'm out there!

Well, I'm eating my above words. Had, a problem yesterday afternoon, and it cost me a deer. Just loaded the gun the night before. Still using the 50-50 pellets which are brand new. Wanted to switch to BH 209, but the rest of the family is sold on the pellets. TC 250 gr bullet. Pulled the trigger, heard the primer fire, than second later, gun fired. Shot it today, shes right on at 125, with no problems. Don't know the reason for problem, but sure is frustrating.

No way I would ever want one as a pet. They would get to much hair on the couch, LOL.
-
Wouldn't miss this week, as some of our best deer are harvested.

Here's a pic. They do exist! Just like M & M s and Santa, LOL.

I don't think I have ever run across a fatty buck, and I cut up a lot. Fatty doe, that's pretty common. This years doe had a good thick layer of fat, with it hiding throughout the meat. Also hunting the food supplies. Still after that 200 lb. doe. Bet she's got a lot of fat.
-
Any word? Nice post to have, the story, right from the blood trail.
-
We'll, here's one for the full moon. Had a 4 point chasing 2 young doe 7:33, this am..

Whats your Favorite processing equipment?
landtracdeerhunter replied to BfloHunter's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
Well, looks like all the bases are covered. Now, hope u start off with a buck first. Their easy. It's those fatty doe that will be fun to do. I'd process 5 buck to 1 doe any day, LOL. -
I too, am a bit on the conservative side when it comes to $. I built the last stand for about $20 and its been up 12 years. I called the town and asked if it was alright if I picked lumber off the curb, got the green light. Get some nice pieces and once in a while a treat, like the 4 x 4 ,1/2" sheets of plywood. People throw some of the darnest things away, LOL.

That's the pic I was looking for. Like the idea of an open and enclosed stand in one spot. It's going in as soon as nice weather breaks in the spring.

Done with Ameristep Blinds.
landtracdeerhunter replied to sits in trees's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I bought an Ameristep ground blind years back which, to my surprise, was made in China. Called customer service for roof support rods. They cost more then I paid for the whole blind. Told the lady that's crazy. Maybe I one of the causes for not having parts, LOL. -
