  1. I always remember that driving on a public highway is a giant risk. Now add distractions of any kind, that risk multiplies rapidly. Too many people today, don't think of the out come of their actions behind the wheel. How it can affect other families, or your own, in a blink of an eye, forever. Make an effort to obey the laws, so we all can enjoy tomorrow.
  2. I choose a few to "save," does and bucks. We'll looking for good genetic potential. My hunting partners respect my decision. Maybe the neighbors might harvest, maybe not. I'll be the first to congats. them if they do, but at least they have a chance walking by us. Some of them, really have to have good self control to pass, but that's our "way of hunting."
  3. Wow, lots of action on here. And to think went to see fireworks, when they were going off right here.
  4. Anyone going to celebrate the 4th with a bang? Where? Maybe some video.
  5. Well another hot one., 91 and humid.Cut it with a knife. Out baling hay today, because of yesterdays shower.Come up for more ice and water, drank a gallon. Where's that bug juice? Really need it today.
  6. Posted means stay off unless permission granted, period. Find my signs at my dads laying in the ditch where someone yanked them out,and tossed them. Some people just have no respect.
  7. Nothing quenches a thirst better. Anyone know how to make it? Had it many moons ago ,but never whipped up a batch myself
  8. Looks like their enjoying themselves on your dime. Don't think they saw the cam .
  9. Found some autumn olive on the farm today. Growing on the knoll.
  10. Found some on the side of the barn. Doesn't seem to be doing well here this year. Anyways, make a great camp fire starter when dried.
  11. Yep, been chopping away at this plant for years. The stems are as hard as brush. Just when you think it's gone, it shows up somewhere else.
  12. Now we know what the airports do with all that lost luggage, lol. Seriously, great idea.
  13. The big growers around here have been planting narrow row spacing for 3 years now. They all harvest for grain with corn heads on combines. Looking at the plant, much shorter, smaller ears, smaller kerrnal, but higher plant-ear population per acre raising yields. The dry down rates, heavily, dependent on weather conditions, seem to be the same. Another wave of modern farming. Ridge planting was one of those waves, not around so much now. Chopping can start here, as early as August. Corns already up to your shoulders in many spots local. Many planted first, second week of May. Another note, sweet corns been out since June 20th,( $5/ dz.) those that planted on black plastic.
  14. Elmer, get your mind out of the gutter, lol.
  15. Eddie, was the dinner nice? Do you have dish pan hands?
  16. Never seen a strutting tom this late, pretty cool.
  17. Hope their right. I'm holding off planting anything until see the light in end of tunnel. Cabbage is out, beet, collards, lettuce is 60 day, plenty of time left. Always fall back on oats, wheat late August, early September, need be.
  18. Deer dander is top on the list. Cabelas is about only place that carries it anymore. I need arrows, our local bow shop is great to do business, keep the money local when possible. Got the bug suit for spring turkey,. That may come in handy if this early SL bow comes about, for those deer flies. The new bow is out. Can't justify it this year.
  19. Really need a nice steady light rain for a day, would be like a shot of N at this stage. Looks good for the drought we're in.
  20. Nice pics, WNY. Splitg2 , Where did you get them for that price? That's a deal.
  21. I don't think it's a done deal yet. Wouldn't hold my breath either with this state. It's up to the final person to sign, their out to lunch for the summer recess. If it does start October 1st, I'm building a walk in cooler.
  22. The higher flying ones could of been, but their were quite a few red wing blackbirds in the hay field feeding on the rest of the army worms. They started flying with the others.
  23. Yep that's right. Thousands heading southeast for several minutes tonight quite high up. Their a good month early. Couldn't believe it, last day of June. For those that believe in the signs. Spring came early, will winter?
