I have 4 boxes (200 rds) of american eagle 9mm luger 115gr fmj and 100 rds of .38spl +p (50 Reminton, 50 Winchester) available as seen in the picture below. I'm selling because I don't have anything to use these with, and want to use the funds for my AR build. I'm travelling to NC next week for a family trip. Conveniently the upper I'm buying is only about a 10 minute drive from where I'm staying. I'd love to sell these before I go. If I don't, I'll give it to the seller and he'll drop the price accordingly. I'm seeing these on armslist for as much as $1/rd, but I'm not seeing them back on the shelves yet. I'm asking .75/rd. If you take the whole lot, I'll sell for $175. PM if you're interested. Local (Rochester area) only. Because of the timing of the trip, I d on't have time to drive too far to make the deal.

Interesting, but it's a pass for me. Too many people walking their dogs around here. The last thing I'd want is to eat a pee'd on weed.

I was surprised at how good it came out. Even the kid liked it!

Smoked the salmon from last year. Served with a garlic cream cheese spread..

Budget blind
Bolt action replied to Bolt action's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
That's my plan. I want to go out Saturday to get this set up. I'll bring him with me to help me brush it in. Then we'll have a place big enough for him to sit with me on scouting runs. Budget blind 2 is going up in another few weeks. That one will be similar, but will have a platform about 8' up. -
Completed the prep on the first of 2 budget blinds going in this year. I think I've mentioned before that my property access could change at any point, so i don't want to invest heavily. This blind was $5 all in and that was the total for the burlap. It stands 40" to all and spans about 10' from tip to tip. It'll wrap around a big tree that i have in mind. I wanted it big enough for me and my son in case he tags along this year. I'll update another pic one it's setup.

Interesting topic. Following. I haven't had many scenarios when I've tried to slow a deer. When I have, my cat calls didn't seem to make a difference.

Upcoming Ammo Auction: https://hessney.hibid.com/catalog/273302/04-12-21-april-ammunition-and-accessories-auction/ If you're really in need of ammo, there's a bunch in this auction. Like all of them recently though, be ready to mortgage the house. I browsed through a few listings and the prices are already (in some cases) 2x retail with 5 days left.

I have a buddy, a marine, who never really found a good career fit after get ting out of the service. He eventually went back to school and is now an RN in the ED. He loves what he does. I'm also in healthcare, but not on the clinical side. healthcare across the state is hurting for good people. Good luck with the change. You'll have lots of opportunities open to you in nursing.

I think availability of any ammo lately has been a challenge. I found these at a local wally world for $20/box. From what I've seen (articles, forums, and youtube reviews), the .350 seems to be a hard hitting round with a mild recoil and accurate out to about 200 yards in an AR platform. it uses all the standard components of an AR-15. All you need is a different barrel and mags. My goal is to build one to take on pig hunts down South, but that could also be used up here for deer.

I feel like i hit the jackpot when I found these today! Now i just need to build the gun to go with them..

African tribe try's modern compound bow for first time .
Bolt action replied to phantom's topic in General Chit Chat
Cool video.. When the tribesman was lining up his first shot with the modern bow, man I thought the string was going to slap his arm. It's amazing to me that there are still people living that same traditional lifestyle the way that their ancestors did. -
Agreed. Whether it's the girl in the short skirt scenario, or this guy driving his patriotic truck past the anti-americans, chances are you're doing it for the reaction. That doesn't mean you're asking to get assaulted in either case. I probably over use this saying, but common sense goes a long way. If you don't want conflict, do what you can to avoid confrontational situations.

2 weeks ago my 7yr old woke up with a fever of 100.5. We gave him a dose of kid tylenol and sent him back to bed. The next morning we called his pediatrician. He was seen and tested that day at no charge. The test came back positive within an hour. My wife got tested also due to cold like symptoms. She also went to her primary care doc for it and was not charged. After that fever, my son has not displayed any other symptoms and my wife is also on the mend. Quarantine was lifted yesterday after our 10 day stint. During that 10 days, I was getting 4 phone calls per day from local, county and state Dept's of Health checking in. I asked every one of them along with my primary care doc if I or the baby should go in for testing. Every one of them said that we should not go in unless we become symptomatic. That seems crazy to me because i could have contracted it at any time and been asymptomatic. I could have it now. I'm still laying low for another few days just to play it safe.

Isn't that kind of like saying the girls who wear the short skirts are asking to get raped? I'm not trying to be snarky, but I think it's the same argument. To your point though, if he knows there are anti-american protesters on that block and he drives by on purpose, he could be deemed an instigator.

Is ammo availability gonna affect your hunting season?
Bolt action replied to venus's topic in Deer Hunting
I have enough in supply that should last me through the next election as long as I'm conservative with it, assuming I don't have a chance to restock prior to then. I mentioned in another thread that I was set to buy an "off" caliber recently. The store had boxes on the shelf for months, then I went to buy it and it was gone. I found a local guy selling a case of it on armslist, but he's asking about triple my budget. I'll try to sweeten the deal a bit by throwing in some ammo I have that I don't have a gun for. Either way, assuming I get some, this would be a seldom used (backup caliber / seldom used) firearm. -
Sounds like he had an EXPLOSIVE temper....!

Makes sense, but I also think it makes a difference where you hunt. If you're hunting property that is (or is close to) public land where there is a casual human presence, then it makes sense. In these areas deer would more likely be accustomed to benign interactions with casual hikers and the such, and would less likely be alarmed. If you hunt large swaths of remote land with very little, if any, human presence, then I don't know how effective this would be.

I get the impression from the latter article that the charges stem from an earlier incident between demonstrators and protesters rather than from the video in the original post, and that this incident spilled over from that earlier one.

There was a pop around :22 that coincided with the window breaking. There was another one at :30 while he was looking at the window that caused him to reach for his gun.
-
We don't know what happened prior to this clip, so we don't know if he provoked them. What we can see is that he was driving his truck adorned in flags and something yellow was thrown on his windshield, forcing him to stop driving. As soon as he gets out, he's harassed and threatened by an angry mob, dressed from head to toe in black (antifa?). He shouts "get away from me" repeatedly. While circling his truck, someone breaks his rear window. Also, what is that loud "pop" noise at :30? Whatever it was, it clearly scared him to the point that he grabbed his cc. This is how people treat patriots and veterans in Portland? Like I said, it's disgusting. Whatever happened to treat others as you want to be treated?

With temps starting to climb, I'm starting to think about turning the soil in the garden to get it ready. I usually toss a few bags of topsoil with a few bags of miracle grow on top, then use a shovel to turn it over. This way it build up just a little more each year. I'll probably do tomatoes, peppers, and kale on one side, squash in the middle, and then cucumbers and watermelon at the end. I'll try using some chicken wire to contain the vines this year since they took over last year.

I wasn't sure of this fit the bill as "political" since the video doesn't convey sympathy for one political party or the other. If the mod wants to move it, no issue here. I just saw it as another example of what's wrong with this culture and posted it more as my way of "ranting" and saying enough already.. I'm tired of all the hostility and BS out there.
