    It's like I've said, they can't take our guns.. but they can render them useless... I've been checking various wally worlds around me along with the local sporting goods store but the inventory hasn't improved at all..

    This might be a bit west of where you're looking, but I've used Jerry the Butcher for years before I started cutting my own. Great guy and a 3rd generation butcher if i remember right. He's on lake Ave near the port right across from the school in Charlotte. 585-865-6404

    You'll never shoot them if you sleep in! I'm out this morning looking for that first bow kill. My freezer is full, but all of my buddies didn't connect this year and would be grateful for some venison. Looking for a fat doe to break in this new bow.

    My in laws are right off the boat from Realmonte and Cefalù. Their friend, old lady Josephine, makes all the old world favorites. She spoils me whenever i see her. If not for those, if head over to Savoia's in the city. Those are the closest I've seen to the real thing in Rochester, but $$$.

    My primary hunting spot is WNY, 8A. Leading into the season, I had much less camera activity than years past. I also saw far fewer on the hoof than in years past. I live in Greece. Over the past few years, I've been surprised by the amount of development West of Rochester. It seems every suitable lot has been developed into townhomes, condos, or assisted living. I've lost several areas where I used to small game hunt. Habitat loss surely has an impact on deer as well as other factors.

    Climbed down and headed to the car. Walk up on 2 doe feeding at about 20yds. I'm carrying a bow today. They see me, but they don't spook. Suburban deer. Do knock an arrow, but they meander away. I spend the next hour trying to get in close enough to shoot. Didn't happen though. Kept them within 75 the whole time and as close as 15 at the end, but just to many ground shrubs to give me a good shot with a bow. Cool game of cat and mouse though.

    I leaned over about 10 minutes ago and my butt let out a grunt way louder than i expected. I'll let you know if any deer come in.

    The new retail space looks great over there. They don't have the sample tray out because I'd covid, but they offered a few sticks of the dill slim jim's to me and my son. After that my kid tried to convince me to get those for the entire order. I'm expecting between 40 and 45 lbs back. Now the problem is where to put it all. I've got about a month to figure that one out.

    Dry and warmer than expected. No deer seen. I'll sit till 8:30ish.

    I'm in. Morning sit this morning close to home. My freezer is full after last weekend's buck. My father in law and some friends haven't had any luck though. If i get one today, I'll split it between them. Good luck if you're out.

    Just dropped a load off. The anticipated turn around will have it ready for pick up at the end of January! Worth the wait though. I ended up getting mild slim jim's, dill slim jim's, maple breakfast, blueberry maple breakfast, texas style hots, and smoked jalapeno cheddar sausages. My wife's going to freak when I show her the bill!
