" "Prove financial hardship"? Is that the same as how Cuomo makes New Yorkers "prove" who they are before they can vote? Will having to "prove financial hardship" be considered discriminatory and viewed as an invasion of their privacy? Certainly asking for valid identification or fingerprints is out of the question how will they know who is really receiving the tax payers money?

Is this what President Biden meant when he said he wanted to bring the nation together? I admit Biden was a real crafty Vietnam War Draft Dodger. The article states “That’s why we are pursuing an agenda that will address not only mass shootings, but also community violence disproportionately affecting Black and Brown Americans, domestic violence and suicide by firearm.” Has any of the gun control experts ever considered that the majority of gun violence is linked to the distribution, sale and use of illegal drugs, and the failed mental health care system?

I wonder if Governor Andrew Cuomo is going to assist in enforcing Federal laws as they pertain to firearm owners who possess and use marijuana? Will Cuomo have all purchasers of marijuana identified?

There are a number of places where you cannot carry your handgun. The post office, government buildings, schools and businesses that ban carrying your handgun. If you must enter these “gun banned” locations you either leave the handgun at home or leave it in your vehicle. Does anyone have guidance from the New York State Police on how it should be legally stored in a locked vehicle? Should it be unloaded, a trigger lock attached and hidden from sight? Or is it going to be your fault entirely if some criminal steals the handgun or any firearm from your vehicle?

Obviously the incompetent police officer failed to properly observe the scene. The victim also had his back to the officers because he was facing the feel threat in front of him. If the incompetent police officer was that fearful he should had the victim lean against his vandalized truck spread eagle and frisked him, but he chose to humiliate the victim lay in the street. Yeah..so much for those who assume Monday morning quarterbacking and assumptions of not knowing who had been in deadly force situations. The fact is the police are not required to protect you and in this case sometimes turn out to be the criminals.

Sooner or later another Bernie Getz is going to materialize. I remember having a heated argument with a NYPD officer over their "manhunt" to get the subway vigilant who shot these three violent crims. I told the officer off that the "vigilante" was taking work away from the police and he was doing a better job. The treatment of the victim by the police was disgusting. The victim removed the gun from his possession and was made to lay in the street by the police like a criminal. All this while the police officer maintains a pointed weapon at the unarmed victim who is made to lay in the filthy street. Please fire that police officer. He was neither competent nor professional. This police offer makes those who support the police think twice about supporting the police. Police officers like this are thugs with badges working for the progressive politicians. The politicians who support recreational use of marijuana have a win-win situation. The "gun safety" "common sense" nonsense is all over the media today. Unfortunately its the same old restrict this and prohibit that nonsense as opposed to dealing with the root causes of violent behavior. Maybe the populace is not intelligent enough to understand that since I occasionally see comments made that are inappropriate. One of the problems is there are people who are infected with some degree of emotional disturbance, mental disability and/or intellectually deficient. When they are unable to control those infections they manifest themselves into varying degrees of violent behavior. These sociopaths will then express themselves with their mouth, some with their fist and others with weapons. A very dangerous situation. We certainly need a better mental healthcare system for these people before they harm others. On that same note, approximately 2/3 of the deaths by firearms are self inflicted to commit suicide. Sad and tragic, but these people are mentally ill and should have received better mental health care. Reports allege the shooter at the supermarket in Boulder, Colorado was a violent person. Reports are in over his past "inappropriate" behavior. Sadly we need to control people like that more than firearms. One type of legislation proposed will look at peoples social media behavior. If someone cannot control their mouth, that may be grounds to restrict or prohibit their access to firearms. Unfortunately with the Democrats in charge like we saw in New York State with the enactment of the SAFE Act, the "gun control circus" will bring on more restrictions and prohibitions, but not make us safer.
