  1. For the most part i thonk your right on. Lol.Although I do know some guys that do,but they're loser/lifers, who've been using since they were kids. If that family gets together .100% there will be a fight..And they're also always high.
  2. Lol. I was following rumors that he was coming back and playing for the 49ers.. I have a friend who is both a diehard 49ers fan and Brady hater. His head would have exploded...
  3. Water filter? This is the one I bought and it worked very well.
  4. Except for my wallet , I enjoyed collecting all the new gear for my 1st elk trip last year.. I hadn't seen these lights before. I have to get some now.lol. Have you bought trekking poles yet?
  5. I'm feeling lucky. Over a million miles and only 2 hit . 1 was sort of ,not really,by accident. No damage on either one.

In the past I went with letting it drop until it hits the ground and stopping. I like it a little looser most of the time... Oh yea. I have on occasion loosened up my fishing buddies reels when they weren't paying attention..;). One of my favorite ones I did was on a catfishing trip.. I was sitting in the back seat next to my friends freshly spooled new reel. He was bragging on the way there about how well his new toy was going to cast "all the way across the river" On the rd there I unspooled 10 ' of line ,cut it and reeled it back in. We get there and like usual race around getting ourselves baited up . Dam! He was right ,he threw his bait and sinker all the way across the river.;)
  7. That's great !. I forgot about the vespa.. I had a lime green Puch, once.
  8. Well you know it wasn't on a Subaru. Subaru drivers drive bmw or triump motorcycles..;) am I right splitear? Btw I had a mid 80s toyota station wagon stickered up once..lol
  9. I did it. I did it..ha.ha. Solved the quordle.
  10. It is nice country, just like inner Maine. Although the mosquitos in May are epic . We had 1 trip that was frosty every morning, that was nice otherwise if you are not in the middle of the lake you will have to adjust your diet downward by at least 200 calories to make up for the bug intake.;)
  11. Yesterday I got an email for this years directors meeting for a fishing club I belong to. It got me to thinking of camp, which we havnt seen in 2 years because of covid. I'm still not sure if things will open up enough to allow us to go this year.. It's an old late 1800/early 1900s loggers camp on a fairly remote lake . It takes roughly 1.5 -2 hrs on a sxs or wheeler to access it. This is after driving 3 hrs on the roughest dirt rd from hell..lol. Averaging about 15-20mph... When our club was started it was accessed by float plane only. I included a few pictures from 1 of our last trips up. Notice the lack of fish pictures. Ha.ha ha. I've caught 1 trout in 8 years. Don't tell the bass or crappie, but apparently I am terrible at lake trout fishing. After building nice things most days it's fun to slam out a rustic structure with chainsaws and cordless drills in an afternoon..;) From trees to covered porch in 4hrs.
  12. Odd. That is the opposite of what I would have assumed. Guess that's why one shouldn't assume . One of the challenges in developing a rapid charging system was keeping the batteries cool enough.

It always seemed odd to me. A right handed reel has the handle on the right. . I'm right handed and always bought left handed reels or switched handles on a spincast.. Why would you want to cast with your right hand and switch hands when retrieving if there was a better option?..lol
  14. I'm always amazed that there not any adults in the room when these decisions are made..
  15. I'm seeing prices at $.25 a kw. A tesla with the large battery is 100kw. So from empty $25.00. Pretty good for low range of 300 to a quoted range of 400 miles.. If we went with 300 miles we would have to have a vehicle that averaged 48mpg @ $4.00 a gallon to be equal . I'm sure the EV trucks are not going to have the same range with the same battery size though..

Get outa here! Your not a reel(see what I did there) fisherman until you use a baitcaster.. Just kidding.. For me my baitcasters outlive the spin cast by a wide margin.. I don't buy super expensive reels. $100.00 is about all I will spend. In the past I would wear out a $100 spin cast in a year 2 max.. Also you have more control of your casts and smoother I know.. 1st world problems..lol.. I did not have this issue until I started living on the lake for 1/4 of the year.
  17. Reminds me of when I was a kid. We had a couple of old Farmalls. I was convinced that I put more work into hand cranking on the stupid things to get it started than the work we got out of them..lol It contributed to more than 1 black eye or bruised body when it kicked back..
  18. Yeah, I think, at least for the next 5 maybe 10 years there will be opportunities to charge an EV inexpensively. Workplaces , malls, or some towns even are providing charging stations. When EVs are more common, I'm sure they will disappear or become pay to use stations.
  19. I don't think I would buy an electric truck anytime soon. An electric car may be an option, for local driving anyways. My gf works at a local university and I think they have some free ev charging spots. That would make for a cheap fuel bill.

X3. Ha.ha. especially when tossing a lightweight plastic, it's pretty easy to get that loose line loop and then have it pull out...

Pretty sure it's Power Pro braid. I wish I could say I don't get a rat's nest anymore. I've been using a bait casting reel for 35 years and I will still get one , at least once a day..lol.. Not as bad as that one though.. I probably should tighten it up a little , but I like it free wheeling.. I'm lucky and have a camp on a local lake. The boat is in the water from May 1st to Sept 30.. It's only 3 miles to the other end of the lake so fuel isn't a big expense..

Ha ha. Ha. .it always seems to happen on one of those windy days, while fighting the trolling motor, and too quickly drifting past that overhanging tree or dock. Lol
