  1. Those old barns seem to want to stand forever. We had an old barn on the farm .Roughly 36'x 70' and roughly 35' to the peak. One end had the old wooden silo built into it and the roof was bad on that. After many years you could see that end of the barn was starting to collapse and slowly drag the rest with it. We decided to cut the 30' off to save the rest. After cutting the roof on a rope with a chainsaw..lol. there was 1 last 10x10 holding the 2 together. I figured for sure it was going to go down fast and was a"little" scared. Well I finished cutting it loose and the thing just stood there. I was all nervous for nothing. Had to end up pulling it down with a tractor. Among the wood we salvaged were 2 36' long 10x10 ash beams The left over barn still houses an apartment and shop..
  2. Seems too good to be real.? Not a great sleuth, but a good sceptic..lol The domain being created 3 days ago makes you wonder.

  4. Boo! Who new there was so many words with the same 1st 3 letters. I got the 1st 3 2nd try and struck out before I got the answer. lol
  5. Yes, it is pretty unusual. It's interesting , somewhere in my travels this year while hunting I saw something close to identical only about 10' above the ground . For the life of me I cannot remember where, so I can't go back and take a pic.lol
  6. Yeah, most likely happened when that was top of the tree . 1/2 broke off(hinge cut) due to snow and or ice and the new growth continued up and around.
  7. Ha ha.ha.. That is today's result for me as well and it's also my PB on quordle..
  8. Those recipes look awesome! I'm going to have to start saving my neck meat whole. I've always turned it into stew or canned.
  9. Wow! Sounds like you were lucky.. now that it's over. That's an awesome experience e!
  10. Yea me too. I would have helped ... rolling them.;)
  11. Interesting. I ended up slightly left of the neutral line 1/3 of the way down libertarian..
  12. Them suckered are tough! Way harder than I expected the 1st time i tried one.lol. They wouldn't be near so tough if there were handles.:)
  13. Fancy.. I settled for a matchbook cover..
  14. The woods around me are a lot different than downstate. Thick and brushy. We are still loaded with grouse. The sound of small lawn mowers starting can be heard everywhere.;)
  15. That would be terrible! Grouse is my absolute favorite bird.
  16. Dino, the pictures of you collecting sap on the hillside makes me appreciate my little Sugarbush that is pretty much flat..;)
  17. 70 % of my miles are work related so it's subsidized by my customers. And I'm at a place where an extra $20-$50 a week for personal use isn't really a factor. It is a huge hit for lower and or fixed income families and individuals. I can remember the feeling of having to scrounge money or go without something in order to make a drive to a lake. It sucked.
  18. Yes. We havnt searched for any in a few years. Actually this was the time of the year that we would often look as a family. Not nice enough to do summer things and not cold enough to do winter things. We hid a couple that you need a boat to find or retrieve.. only a few people ever found them, being that the lake had very limited access. Some are really difficult to find. Especially the mini caches. It is amazing the number hidden around the world in plain sight more or less.
  19. I have family in North Platte Nebraska . Uncle and cousin were/are engineers. Pretty sure they do the Platte to Denver run. I always thought it was a cool job. I can see where it would get old after awhile.
  20. Being left eye dominant as well, this is what I did to train myself to shoot right handed. After a summer of training my eye I could switch focus and hold it through either eye with a little squint to start the focus. Now I'm ambidextrous. I can shoot left or right handed comparably, so it just depends upon what side the deer is on.
  21. I take it , you didn't even bother trying to swerve.:)
  22. Better to be lucky than good.. 2 today.
  23. Ok.. Tell that to my father and step mother who both died early because of decades of alcohol abuse.
