Bow tags are.issued with licence.. numbers taken only.effect doe tags..and that's subjective.. not reporting them.has minimal influence as archery take at this point is extremely.low . Compared to gun. If crossbow was.legal all season it would have an impact.at deer take would be significantly higher after a few years. Ohio has more deer taken in archery season now than gun. (They also have short gun season. Again the op is about crossbow being legal (or permits issued for disabled) and Dec has nothing to do with that.

Dec is managing numbers not game . Their formula works with what they are empowered to do.

Don't blame the dec.. the fault like in your representatives. The make the law and change them. Dec is an environmental organization not a game department. The issue is not theirs to decide or crossbow would be legal all season and well as longer late season. And would if been done years ago. We all need to step up and let our representatives know what we want. And stop pointing at the Dec as the hangup.

Its not the cocking its the transfer of energy the string was attached to a cylinder that propelled the string forward to propel the projectile.. think catapult on aircraft carrier using hydraulic pistons..

Crossbow does not have a pin to detonate a primer to ignight a propelant.. it is not the same at all.. that's like saying a stick bug and twig are the same because they look the same.. And one s that shoot led balls are not crossbows they are slings.. like a catapult

It is not archery equipment by any expllination ..projectile is irrelevant!! That is the basis for your whole argument but it doesn't fit what has been established as archery equipment! Go buy a harpoon gin and use that ..that is exactly the same as this..made smaller for hand held. I don't see any whale in archery records..

Can a x bow shoot more than one kind of projectile. These are air rifles with different barrels.. swap a barrel out and shoot a 30 cal 40 70 cal bullet out of same gun.. they are vastly different in method of propulsion and cocking

Even the video says they are converted air guns with arrow barrels. Archery doesn't have barrels.

Well lasers are more accurate and they should be allowed.. air propellant or powder makes it a gun.simple not archery doesn't matter what it shoots.. is a whale harpoon cannon archery equipment? No!! Again not up to Dec. If they made regs xbow would of been legal decades ago in all of archery . You keep saying they are like a gun..they are far from it have you ever even shot one? You have to many deer for size of plots you are planting. Your problem is common. Honestly you have 3 choices . 1. Decrease the population 2. Increase the size of the plots to allow some to reach maturity 3. Plant something that will withstand browse.(turnip and clover) You will have same.problem with soybean the population will wipe it out before you can get tot to maturity

If the Dec made the regs yes they would of been added years ago but allowing them is a matter of changing laws therefore they have to go thru the legislative process and.lobbiests were very effective on keeping them out and almost did again until the Dec classified them as muzzloader so a course didnt have to be given otherwise they would of been legal but no one could instruct a course as by law you must hunt with legal implement for 3 years before you can teach course on it. That is the only thing Dec did fro crossbow and now the push is for it to be declared archery equipment so it can be used all season so by solving 1 problem they created another.

1st the crossbow pre dates the gun. And releases we not allowed for many years nor were fiber optic pins. A compound bow and crossbow are at this point nearly identical when you consider the 80% plus let off. The only difference is drawing and you can get a drawlock if you want. Trigger releases .. I can set my.comlound down and pick it up 8 months later and still kill effectively at my preset pin ranges.

The best part is everyone keeps bringing up the Dec as the one to allow this.. it's legislature and there is no way our nys representatives will allow this "assault bow" my god if it was black there would be nationwide protests!!!

I can take my muzzleloader and put a metal.rod down it and a broadhead on it and shoot it very far very fast... ever leave a ramrod in one? Drove one thru. Railroad tie 1x.. it will never be projectile based . Heck have a drone drop a bunch of jarts on game.. ( use to drop fleglets from Planes in ww1) how would that be considered archey? .

Speed is highly adjustable ..look,at paintball guns.. it is a gun simple . Put an appropriate size lead ball down it and it will fire.. can't do that with stick and string
