Nope bows exist and guns exist. Air guns are just as deadly as a regular gun and offer multiple shots.

Forester/Logger recommendations
G-Man replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Over used several different logger and foresters.. ibrecomend you go with a foresters and tell them your looking for wildlife not timber. Makes a big difference in how it's marked and harvested -

Worse encounter with a skunk several.years ago at camp.. woke up and went out back door huge skunk at bird feeder.. friend decides he want it to mount.. so he shoots it with .22 it rolls over amd.pisses a 3 ft stream into the air.. no big deal.close door.. problem is we weren't using forced air furnace to heat with but had wood burner in front addition going to heat.place.. the cold air was being drawn in thru the furnace exhaust stack. And so was the stink... was so strong you could taste it in the air.. took. A few minutes before we realised to crank the thermostat to stop the draft coming in....sigh.. never.forget that morning..

I have had a very good friend have both replaced a year apart. The whole key is to do the rehab and whatever the Dr tells you to do no matter how painful.. restretching ligaments and tendons is not a easy thing. But as he said well worth it. He's is now 15 years past and more mobile than he ever was

The issue has always been the definition of handicapped. In nys you need to be a paraplegic and use a breath tube.. again this all comes down to our hunting regulations being voted on by our government rather than managed by a game department.. until we have an amendment giving the right to hunt and fish governed by game department we will always have an uphill battle for common sense and reasonable regulations

16 for unsupervised . I believe that is the law now and I agree with age.. as you can drive car by your self then. Lowering to 12 for gun I agree with as.my.12 year old.nephew is much more mature than his 14 year old brother. Who we have constant supervision on ..

Nice buck I personally would.leave it.. doesnt look like it's missing more than 3 inches of beam.. and if it was old and worn down why bother a fresh brake would push me a bit to get fixed

What's the coolest thing you found in the woods?
G-Man replied to helmut in the bush's topic in General Chit Chat
This is a portable version of igneous intrusion not very common at all in this size to have a good example..maybe a stripe or half a rock.. the black / blue granite was formed first. Was fractured miles underground and new magma pink granite was forced into cracks where it hardend..few million years and it was exposed on the Canadian shield.. then a glacier brought it down and dropped it here in southern new york.. here are some more common sizes.. -

Found original article.of man and moose pic above little easier to read.. If for some reason there is someone out there reading this who thinks this is a modern phenomena, it isn't. For example, there's the story of the hunter who is believed to have killed a moose back around 1905. No one knew that he killed that moose until 1923. In 1923, the skeleton of the moose was found. Actually, the skeletal remains of the moose that he killed was found. The skeleton of the hunter was found beneath the remains of the moose. It's true. After finding the skeleton of the moose, it became obvious as to what happened. The hunter died in the process of killing the moose after it charged him. We know about this because the story was reported by The Daily Inter Lake newspaper out of Kalispell, Montana. The first article about this was written in their newspaper back on July 16th, 1923: FIND EVIDENCE OF OLD TRAGEDY Mute evidence of a tragedy of the woods was discovered a few days ago by Joe McKelvey, park ranger, in the vicinity of Many Glaciers chalet, Glacier National park. In a thicket. about three miles north of Many Glaciers, Mr. McKelvey ran across the skeleton of a moose and upon closer investigation found parts of a human skeleton which clearly showed that some hunter years ago had shot and wounded a moose and then been killed by the animal. Close by was found a Springfield 45.70 rifle with the breech open, and a shell which had stuck told how the hunter had lost his life. He had evidently fought to a finish for a broken hunting knife was found on the ground. Old-timers in the vicinity of the park are of the opinion the skeleton is that of a French Canadian trapper who disappeared about 18 years, ago, but none remember his name. There is no doubt that the man lost his life a long time ago, for the bones are bleached, and the rubber shoes which the hunter was wearing are badly weather-worn. Mr. McKelvey got an excellent photograph of this tragedy of the hills. It shows the two skeletons where the combatants fell after their finish fight together with the rifle and other equipment of the hunter. -

Not really lost..just misplaced.. I have a knock around single shot 12 ga. I take on walks with me in the woods . I usually get distracted and fix or find something. Well I set it down Gainst a tree to go look at something down a steep hill.. and then I saw something else ..ect well i got back to house minus the gun.. went out looked for it no luck.. two years later walking there it is.. cleaned it up reblued it and revarnished stock and it's good as new! Though now it has a sling so I don't have to set it down..

Ash borer is everywhere. I have been romovin them off my property for last 7 years. Getting a lot of flack from locals who asked why inwas cutting up all my future timber.. I travel to and from ohio and have see. Entire woodlots dead 10 to 20 acres of woods just dead.. I'm glad I got some value out of my woodlots before the ban was started. Evidence is always on tops first as it taken3 or 4 years for an infestation to really take hold and become evident.

The problem with all black powder guns is they are not popular. If you advertise it nationally you may get 200 bucks for it. Locally you'll be lucky to get 100. It's just the way it is .. I have has several black powder shotguns and while I really enjoy them . Trying to move one is near impossible unless your know a group t

I have no motivation to hunt .it's just a autonomic response. I enjoy seeing someone get game out of one of my setups.. I enjoy the scouting far more than the hunt.. I do kill but it's anticlamatic. At some point while sitting i just decide I will kill. That's it.. I enjoy the meat but give much of it away.. big bucks I kill from time to time but I kill small deer as well.. it's just in my dna.. And I'm pretty good at it.
