big game season is closed but small game is open for 2 more months!

I really would like to take politics out of the issue all together laws will not do not sole anything for those that are set to commit these crimes don't seem to follow the laws, School boards should have a mandatory training day for teachers/school officials. on the proper use of pepper spry/ mace and give each teacer one to be kept on their person while in the classroom. just think 1 shot of pepperspray in the face of the latest shooter what the difference would of been......

If you take the time to read the link i first posted most have been stopped be an armed civillian, and again most were stopped with minimal loss of life. Seems the worse or highest victim counts occored when no armed civillians were present.

that roll out plot is 30in wide by 40 ' long or 100 square feet or 10' by 10'... you would still need to remove material from under it so dirt is exposed, and you can do the same thing cheaper for a much larger area 220' x 220' is an acre!

10 yards x 10 yrds is still, way to small... 1-2 deer will wipe it out in 1 night or day... 40$ will let you plant 1 acre of trunips/clover;. food plots aren't hard. get round-up or simialr spray 10$ . spray area you want, rake/ burn off dead plant material so you have ground exposed.(just your time) plant turnip/clover mix 20$ and maybe you will have enought to hunt over! 1/4 - 1/2 an acre! The liming/fertalizing is nice to do if you can afford it , but it will grow as long as there is enough moisture/soil seed contact! anything you do is better than nothing!! just don't waste you money on a gimmik!

Virgil, what if a teacher had pepper spray, mace, a tazer, or stungun.. i can and will say for certain this would of not gone as far as it did. It is not about regulating weapons, fact is he used 2 hand guns in the shooting the " assault rifle" wasn't used. Why not train our teachers or at least principals/vice principals, maintance personal with in the schools in non-lethal or even lethal means. A gun man walks into one room, shots are fired, teacher across hall/ next room removes pepper spray/mace (what ever you want to defend your students with.) When gun man enters next room is sprayed, shot,tazer by next adult. Rest of falculty that heard shot hold down assailant till police/responce team arrives. You can ban large capacity magazines, people will just carry more low capacity ones. Even revolvers have quick loaders or replacement cylinders. Regulating an inanimate object does nothing to control an unstable human mind. Defence thru legal means is the only way. If you can't see that you must live in an occult camp which will one day be wiped out by an unstable individual as well.

The whole point of this is, it is not guns,or any other device that can be used to kill (sticks and stones kill as well) it is the uncontrollable human mind that is the problem...... so all that is left is for an individual to learn to defend ones self/other thru legal means... as any kind of regulation seeks to control devices which are not the problem inanimate objects can't kill they need a person/person behind them wielding them if you would... stop blaming the object place the blame on the individual. Learn to protect yourself/others. Not pushing for arming every teacher with a gun. But why not mace/pepper spray/ tazers, stun guns. Properly trained an individual could not walk room to room shooting with out some resistance. Putting your head in a hole and closing your eyes wishing for a peaceful world is like asking a thirsty dog not to drink water from its bowl....

bath bombing had more kids from ages7-14 killed (dead is dead). not to mention 500 more pounds of tnt found un exploded under school.

I have been thinking.......its not the news media, the guns, the pscyhotropic meds, the divorce rate, or even a new phenomenon in our society. Both males and females take these medications but mostly males commit the crimes. Seems we are averaging every decade the approximate same except in 1970 to 1980. So what was better then? I grew up exactly in this decade (1971 to 1989) and I do not believe it was any different except that all the troubled kids in my school who were bullied, rejected and reprimanded smoked alot of pot or weed. In the bathrooms, behind bleachers, it was everywhere...thanks to the 60's ...or was it the era all kids and people pushed PEACE and our nation focused on war and not home. Not sure but we have not found the answer and it will not be as simple as one thing. But our documented studies show they all have something in common: A) Revenge for self or family member being reprimanded or abused in some fashion Rejection (romantic or not) C) Bullied The answer does not end in weapon control - when an individual has a motive it will be carried out with whatever means possible and that means any weapon they can devise or find - but in human behavior and cognitive thought processes. Seems we are finding ways to detect abnormal patterns - thus the prescribing of medication - but the medication is not the reason these individuals one day wake up and carry out these actions. There is no way to tell if the meds are even working on them...and in the last 200 years these meds were not even around. I think the answer lies in our ability to discover how to one prevent A, B or C and then detect A, B, or C when it does happen and figure out how to correct the human response to either. Not an easy task since we are very complex and one can not see the inside of a humans cognitive functioning, and one of concern if we claim we can and start prosecuting those who we deem as mentally ill in error (refer to the witch trials for this one). We are not even including the mall shootings, the resturants (i.e. McDonalds), movie theaters or all the others. These are just schools and shootings and missing the bombings and other attacks. Heck I would be here ALL day if I added all the attacks on humans by humans. That is where the focus should be.......what makes a human attack another human(s). The answer may not ever be found...so in the meantime I guess we should focus on PREVENTION of self (arm and education), smoking more POT while promoting more PEACE. PPP

waste of money, i had a 2 acre turnip patch wiped out in 3 days(nights actually) a 10x10 area wouldn't even get a chance to grow if there was more than 1 whitetail within a mile of it..

my neighbor does it all the time, big mature bucks with no horns. bigger body means more meat.will not fill his doe tag on a doe must be anterless buck.. dissapointing for me cause 3-4 in pedicals just leave me wondering what it was...

I have 1 stand that over 50 deer have been shot from 19 of them antlered bucks. I usually put a guest in it as it always produces(as long as the person can shoot straight!) The problem i have with it is getting the successful hunter to give it up for someone else to use....

You need permission to recover a deer on someone elses property. if you had it to get your doe great, if the neighbor gets ticked off afterward not much you can do t it. move your stand further away from the line , and try to take high shoulder shots to anchor it quick. some people are just like that. Now you could of done it differently.... ask land owner to go with you and follow trail together to prove it came from yours, do not gut on his land but drag back and gut on your own. You turn to be an a--hole you could of called police/dec for hunter harrassment, just say he shot at you( i doubt he picked up his casings...point them out and where you were).

Its not so much the caliber of rifle or gun but type of bullet,or improper type of bullet, partition bullets,ballistic tips,accubond, hollow point, soft point, jacketed. They all have specific duty's, unfortunately the average hunter goes in buys 150 grain bullets and goes hunting. Bullets should match the game u hunt at the expected ranges you will be shooting at. If not, pass thru with out expansion,or bullet fragmentation happens. No bang flop, no blood no tracking.. the rule i was taught was if you shot at it you hit it better put the time in to find it or find the bullet in the dirt or tree.

I will be out with a small group on friday doing some drives to fill a few tags, and then sat is the annual muzzleloader drive 20+ friends and neighbors working together to fill tags on some large drives! its better than christmas!! lol

found a little half of a six in my food plot, have pics of the buck with both sides but missed the horn dropping and him afterwards.. looks like a bad winter heer as well at least for deer food wise.

very cool, it's probably just missing a part firing pin for example, as gi's wern't allowed to send back operable siezed guns, some filled the barrel with lead go home melt it out and you have a machine gun,luger ppk,ect...., but a collecter would love it and the missing parts can be found!

It happens a lot.. small bore rifles .30 cal and under , using an improper bullet weight or style, punches thru and plugs easily. No blood-didn't drop- must of missed. Hate to say it but so many hunters expect the bang flop, if it doesn't happen they figure a miss. To much tv time and not enough on the range. I have a neighbor who kills and loses multiple deer ever year, i gringe every time i hear him shoot cause i know i'll find it dead in a few days and he swears he missed clean.
