  1. Oh it's true, large, flat tipped slow moving bullets make the best brush calibers.
  2. 35 Rem in Marlin 336 is my next purchase. PERFECT woods gun, blows right through brush. 444 Marlin just seems like complete overkill, at that point why not opt for 45-70 and be done with it.

  4. Wow, this thread is still going? LOL Thought it would die off after the OP resolved the issue with neighbor.
  5. Here it comes. Get ready for SAFE ACT 2 https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/statement-governor-cuomo-thousand-oaks-shooting Look for them to start outright confiscation of all registered ARs, ban or force registration of semi-auto shotguns, and eliminate county conceal carry permits, forcing you to have to go to the state (to eliminate all unrestricted permits.)

  7. It is only going to get worse. Before yesterday I figured there would be NO WAY this could pass. https://www.cato.org/blog/ny-proposal-social-media-checks-gun-purchases I am already getting my shopping list ready, just like before the SAFE ACT
  8. And then they friggin complain in town meetings about the nuisance, and then some sane level headed individual suggests opening up to limited bow hunting in certain areas, and then they FREAK OUT and on and on it goes...
  9. 4U Pulled cams activity picked up mightily. 10/31 @ 6:04PM Saw a 5 pointer chasing after doe on driveway of my property. Then about 3 hours later he was about 130 acres away on the OPPOSITE side of the property below the ridge that acts as the eastern property line. The previous evening, up on top of that same ridge ridge a 7 pointer the next day was spotted at about 10:56PM, although he did not exhibit any rutting activity. Heavy nighttime doe activity, they seem to not come out during the day as much.
  10. What's your setup? Caliber/glass?
  11. Dont beat yourself up, cant hit a home run if you dont swing the bat. At least you got some action, alot of people yet to see a buck, going back a few seasons!
  12. Swapped my SD cards yesterday, got a pleasant surprise on the east ridge of my lease.
  13. Good post bud. There is a lot to be said about managing genetics (the reference to Texas) and how that has a direct correlation to a healthy and strong herd. I think simply allowing more doe tags would help things dramatically.
  14. Got it. His wife was like that is a boar. Me and john were like we dont have boars here, but were at a loss for what the heck it is, since its color doesnt match anything around in that profile.
  15. These trail cams are awesome but a lil tough to make out sometimes especially in night vision. I can see it being a coon, my first thought since i have seen them multiple times on my cams across property was fisher cat.
