Culvercreek hunt club
I read an article on this once and the theory was the draw was left over from nursing. they felt the vanilla stimulated a scent memory from when they were a fawn.....I won't how mnay deer were actually surveyed to draw that conclusion...lol
Cabin Fever
I use vanilla in some of my trailcam setups. It's not like it's a big draw, but it gets them to stop and pose for a pic instead of just seeing a blurred image at night with IR.

mbucks27
Ive been reading nothing but good things about fitzgeralds deer dander so i picked up a bottle And will try it out this season. Its more of a cover scent but it seems to bring a lot of deer in following your trail if you spray it on your boots before you walk into your stand. You can get it at cabelas and ill post a link so you can read reviews. http://m.cabelas.com/cabelas/review/reviewList.do?productName=false&itemId=745487&categoryId=
arrow nocker
i dont believe in cover scents cause you can't cover the human stench.Cover scents are just a marketing scam.Just more smell in the woods. I have used vanilla extract with success.Shot a big doe with it last year. She came to it from about 80 yards.Directly towards me and hit it.She sniffed it and turned in the direction she came after sniffing around where i sprayed it. i would never use it as a cover scent. It will give away your location.Might as well wear ax deoderant all over your hunting suit.
