growalot
How neighboring activity helps me out ...this year should be a doozy....with all the logging and when the corn gets cut ...then I have a new one just this week end... They have cut a go cart track through the hunting property next door this week end.... dusk and then 11pm they were racing all over the trails they've been mowing for deer over the past several years and a bunch of new ones they mowed...They'd allowed the hay field to revert back to hard woods so the sound wasn't bad for us...but whoo boy...did I find many and some huge deer tracks in a plot not far from their place...yeppers....I hope they continue to race those paths all bow season....lol....not seeing too much activity at the hunting camp that leases land next to us....Mr B wondered how happy they are about the corn...no mowing going on ..even in the usual non corn areas..it will be an interesting early season for sure...a good chess game as it were Edited September 4, 2012 by growalot
NFA-ADK
I have had more chances at deer due to quades, bikes, cars, trucks and noisy hunters than all my other methodes... It seems to wake them up!!! Esp. if the weather was warm... I find sometimes that is the only thing that will get them moving. They could care less about me stalking and let me just pass them by when it's hot outside... My only 4 pt buck was due to a quad waking him up... ants
Yup... One year I shot a real nice buck because the farmer started to cut his corn in the lot below my stand. I saw the guy pull his tractor into the lot ,way off ,and start working. after about 10 mins this deer just walked from the corn into my little patch of woods. It was maybe a 20 yard shot ( shotgun season)

growalot
What was drama about that?...you and another poster drinking from the same jug? It was a post about how activities out side of your hunting area can improve your hunting...I see the other guys got it..but I'd expect that from normal ppl
Top ramen
When hunting the opening days of deer season I usually stay out over lunch time. I found that my neighbors will break for lunch and create an unorganized drive. Deer that were bedded down early may move at this time. I do have to admit that I have fallen asleep after this part of the day also. Who knows what will happen while hunting game.
erussell
Shot this fighter 3rd day of gun last yr. There was a ATV that went through the woods about 400 yrds to my left then one about 500 yrds to my right and he split the difference and walked right up to me. Wasnt the first time this happened either. I use to hate the sound of ATVs going through the woods, now I cock the frontstuffer and get ready because 9 time's out of 10 there's deer coming. bubba
Leave me out of this I said nothing. I just am glad my life is quiet and I do not have time to post a new story every day. That being said, I have taken a few deer when corn was being cut. It is a great time to sit a field when it is being cut. I also race go carts and have not shot any deer after doing so. I used to drive truck on my brother in laws farm and when we were cutting the deer would scramble like marbles on a hard wood floor when you went up a row. growalot
I also race go carts and have not shot any deer after doing so. I don't think they plan to either...lol...They have over 100acres and don't allow doe hunting... Rarely venture into the property all year until now...then all the activity starts...mowing...firewood ....parties...ect.....the go carts are a God send The buck I shot last year I'd never seen before...he'd been living there all summer...they had him on cams...but was pushed to us and another neighboring property.... bubba
I am not sure if you are aware, but deer move on their own too. It does not take all kinds of things to make them do so. Just saying.
landtracdeerhunter
Have a neighbor on the other farm, faithfully rides his ATV down his lane, opening morning, about sunrise, bumping the deer over to us. Never fails, just like clock work. Combining corn moves the deer around, but not what one might expect. Many times, have had deer riding ahead of the snapping rolls. Also have seen deer, few rows over, riding by them. Harvesting equipment and tractors, they seem to tolerate more.
