Are these your pictures? That is some WILD stuff and just shows how raw things are in the wild. How long was the photographer stuck in that tree while those wolves had dinner?

If it was me there would have been quite a few dead wolves in that pic next to a cut up moose.

I was going to bring my distressed rabbit call the next time out hunting. Now I'm thinking twice !!!

doing a google, those pictures are on some island, where the moose is the only source of food for the wolves.

Just to clear up some misinformation:

The original story (http://www.isleroyal...kills_moose.htm) is no longer on line, but the pictures were taken in 2006, from a helicopter. The island that the pictures are from is in the northern part of Lake Superior, north of Michigan (UP part).

Neither the wolves, nor the moose that live on the island are hunted.

Most wolves are shot incidentally by hunters hunting other game. I have wolf hunted a total of 14 days with no wolves seen (8 in Alberta, 6 in N. Ontario). My dad hunted over 30 full days in 3 different Canadian provinces over the course of a few years and 5 diffrent guided hunts before even seeing 1. He shot 2 of them. Both are top 5 all-time based on skull-size in the province of British Columbia.

Wolves are one of the hardest animals to specifically target, hunt, and kill. Hopefully someday I will get one.

Also, pretty cool are the videos of Mt. Lions vs Wolves. When 1 on 1, the lion will kill a wolf very easily and very quickly.

Why not? I'd shoot as many as I had tags for. How often will you get a chance to shoot a wolf?

Wolves, mountain lions, yotes, ect... All predators in general get shot. Im nature to.

Cool pics, just goes to show how cruel nature can be. If I was up a stand with that under me thier would have been many dead wolves. Or at least one as I would prob have a bow... My predator competition will be eliminated any chance possible... And yes, I am nature to!!!
