I did not see a camps forum so I guess this forum will have to do.

after building a new pole barn so we had room for more tractors my wife and step dad decided it was time to replace my old camp at the family farm in Pa.

took 28 days total to finish it, what was supposed to be a camp turned into a small house! only have a few things to finish it up, I have the 3 drawer cabinet almost done that goes between the stove and refrigerator. and I have to put the reducer down for the hardwood to carpet transition.

some pictures of the finished inside.

Love it, we have the same TP holder. Is that ambrosia maple on the floor? Looks just like the floor I put down this year.

great job!

thanks all, i will see what other pictures I have that I can post, probably over a hundred through out the project.

the kitchen/ dining room floor is hickory. there is around 4700 lineal feet of knotty pine through out the cabin.

there was a lot of prep work done and pre planning to make everything go together so quick with just my step dad, wife and I doing the biggest part of it, I did have a buddy help for 3 days with the framing.. my step dad is almost 80 but he

hung in there though all of it.

I was not planning on building anything this extravigant but with my fishing charters and construction work here I was able

to swing it all and come out without dime one of a loan.

we have gas wells on the farm and have our own gas hook up, so all appliances are natural gas, the gas fireplace will

literally cook you out on a 2 setting as the place is so well sealed and insulated.

  • 2 months later...

had to make a trip to the farm last weekend to do prep work for a cement job so I took advantage of my time there and got the last of the kitchen cabinets finished and installed.  even managed to get some work done on the old 1929 mccormick-deering 10-20 we have been restoring the last 2 years.  its almost ready to try to fire up.
