mlammerhirt
I guy I hunt with took a doe a few seasons ago with his .338 at around 130 yards, you could put your fist through the entry hole. The gun has gone back in the cabinet and not come out since.

MountainHunter
Elk, moose, large bear? The scope seems to be mounted high. Will you have to pull your cheek off the stock to center your vision through the scope? I'm sure the muzzle brake makes it a lot more comfortable to shoot. People I know have been recoil sensitive and have had muzzle brakes on their barrels. Have the brakes advanced so they don't increase the blast so much? I wish you good luck with it. waterweasle
I didnt try shooting it without hearing protection................scope and probably ring will be replaced, this gear was just what I had laying under the bench when I got home.............though I do plan on intalling an adjustable cheek piece to match whatever scope ends up on it

Elmo
Reloading would ease it a bit. Otherwise, at $5 a round, I wouldn't be able to afford to even shoot that thing.
