TeeBugg
Im gonna try the route that g-man suggested. Pluck the tail fan and lay them out and glue em. Seems alot easier and less messy than other methods! Wish me luck!
Twax10
That's pretty interesting, I've never heard of that before but seems like a good idea. Be sure to show us some pics

Cabin Fever
Very nice!! So are you mounting that above your headboard or on the ceiling above your bed?
TeeBugg
I think the fiance might have something to say about it being near the bed haha!

Tell her all good turkey hunters do that for good luck! yeah i dont think she will go for that. she wants to mount the feet too. which is something ive never done, but this one also has the biggest spurs ive ever shot so.... thinking the feet are getting mounted too! Cabin Fever
As big as those spurs were, you could use 'em for coat hangers!

G-Man
I've cut the spurs off about 1/2 in either side of them poked out the marrow and tendon . Run a leather lace thru them and hung around cover board so they hang on either side of beard on plaque. Looks good fast and easy.
TeeBugg
Saw an read a few posts elsewhere....one foot is holding the shell, the other is giving the bird lol. Fiance says we should do em that way so they are tied up and hopefully they stay that way! Almost perfect since had i walked another 20 feet i wouldve spooked this bird and his buddies haha! meatmuzzy
Once you plucked the feathers how did you hold them all in place for the glue part? How did you glue them together?
josephmrtn
hot glue?
TeeBugg
Hot glue! Followed some other ideas i found on this site. Work the glue into a rainbow over the feathers if that makes sense.
NYBuckHunter27
Why not just cut it at the bone and salt it? im just curious. seems like alot of work to pluck it and than try to place them correctly when gluing.
TeeBugg
From field to wall in one day basically. Took me longer because i had to find a good piece of wood for the mount. No messing with salt or borax or smelly junk. Honestly it really wasnt that hard actually.
