growalot
Stands...I have two new ladder stands I got last winter I have to put up...Ohh but where?... was going to put one at camp but after the guys let some strange guy get away with sitting in my best stand(trespasser)...and some smokers from camp still smoking after I requested not to...I think both will stay home...So still thinking...hhhmmm I may take down at least one hang on to repaint and build a new ladder for and have some others that I would like to move and repaint...once the rain stops again... So what are in the plans for all of you?
WNYBuckHunter
I lost a spot this year, so I have to go over and take my stand down and move it to another property. I also have a couple of new sets to hang and then check on and maintain a few others. Ill be waiting for the heat to subside a bit though.
landtracdeerhunter
I now have enough lumber to build two perment stands, spots where the ladders got stolen last. Got the tarps ordered from Habor Freight and two past board frig. boxes reserved. Now all I need is the brick and the flue for the fireplace, LOL
wooly
My climber is still hugging the tree it was in last fall. I got two chain-ons that will likely stay put where they are, and one other that's looking for a good early season ambush. I just started sitting in a stand in the evenings with the camera overlooking the corn field. Got to see lots of deer last night coming from the far corner and even had a few doe work their way under me yesterday. How exciting, lol! I'll probably take a saw with me tonight to do some trimming before they show up again.
growalot
Wooly...Last week I went down to check one of the tree blinds I put up between the streams on the ridge...Dang left the bucket seat out and the critters ate it....my fault...but sat for a while listening to the stream and enjoying the breeze...stood to leave and behind me was a young buck...What a great time learning....for I'd been mowing earlier and stank!!!...so I got to see how the thermals were from the stand and his reactions....I need to hunt there more!! Witty
I still have to decide where I'm going to hang stands! Ugh I wish there was more time in a day.
CuseHunter
No matter how great of a spot I find I always seem to find a "better" one or a "better" tree. It's just my problem with women too ;p but in the end I just go with whatever one I feel lucky in at the moment.
Renegade Hunter
I had a stand last year where I had 4 big bucks on cam. During the season I didn't see a single deer in that spot? So moving that one to my yard to practice out of for the time being. Then I have one that got the bottom stolen off it and the top is still hanging in a tree. Thinking about making a blind out of it once I get it down.
