They are serious about this. Just got a call from a friend that uses the Henrietta Store and they had $1,500 in cash withdrawls made on their card in California. Withdrawls were over the last few days. Keep you eyes out. I have canceled our cards.

ESL is already replacing their member's cards.

Yeah, idenity theft is no laughing matter - I know.

Happened to me twice within 6 months about 5 years ago.

Second time was a disaster, had to threaten to file a grievence with the Fed Treas Dept.

My bank (Key) was confident that I was to blame and kept adding on overdraft penalties & fines on top of the mistaken $1200 withdrawal.

Now am happy with a community credit union!

Hate to sound like a radical but is the death penalty to much for these clowns ....seems like all these white collar criminals ever get is a slap on the wrist....if they ever catch them.

Wasn't just ESL.  Five Star Bank had a large number of debit card numbers compromised recently.  We were not told until we called last week after my wife's card had several transactions in one day in Florida.

Never said it was, just said that ESL is replacing cards.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you meant that.  I was just trying to point out that people should be vigilant about the accounts.  I check ours frequently and noticed the transactions the next day.  The bank has been good about taking care of the issue, but I was surprised that they knew the cards were compromised and didn't bother to warn customers to check their accounts.

I believe the rip-offs were from people using their Debit Card . I always use cash at Aldi's ....

Discount food store...bag you own groceries kind of place....some stuff is great...some not so much
