Good luck man.  In my experience hunters around here aren't too quick to help each other out with hunting spots.

One the one hand I can see where they come from, gotta put in your own work.  On the other hand, something as simple as pointing you to a state forest wouldn't be too hard.

My advice, go on the www.dec.ny.gov, and run a quick search for state land.  There's an "interactive mapper" that will show you state land around a specific area.

There you go.

Most people aren't going to just give up any hunting area to some guy off the web.

Knocking on doors could go a long ways to helping your cause if its private land you're after..........................

OP.....do you have a car or do your parents have to drive you?

Also if anyone has any private land that they will let me hunt on I would be very grateful.

Grateful enough to pay the taxes?...I was in the Dr office the other day...and this topic came up...older woman...saying how sick they were of the ppl showing up at the door asking...So they decided to say..."grateful enough to pay the taxes?"  and then would take the tax bill off the stand next to the door and show it to them....No one hunts their land but family...imagine that!...lol

Around me there are guys who will, pay them as Long as you enter into a long term arrangement.

The taxes on our 116 acres are, two thousand and something, idk the lawyer pays them.

For 4 guys that' would not be a bad deal.

Plenty of folks have cell phone bills two grand a year plus.
