IronBucks
Looking for opinions on recommended safety harnesses. I usually hunt from ladder stands with a safety rail and I've used some of the cheaper harnesses. I'll be in the air with a hang on this weekend so I would like to use a better harness. dbHunterNY
I've only used ones from your TSA harness from your treestand purchase, Hunter Safety Systems (pro series and others), and Muddy outdoors. So far I really like the Muddy Safeguard harness. That'd be my first choice.
dbHunterNY
I will say though that for a tree strap I really like a rope and prussic knot style. Not sure if Muddy really makes that type. Right now I'm using my HSS one with my Muddy harness.
Cabin Fever
I bought HSS Pro Series for myself and my 2 kids. If I was in the market for a new harness, I would go with one of the newer ones that isn't so big, bulky, and heavy. You know, the stream-lined versions! Just the harness, without the whole vest/material.
mbucks27
i use the muddy harness. Its about 100 bucks and it is light and easy to use and its like you dont even know you are wearing it. Best one i have used so far. John
Lord of War
I am currently using the harness that came with my summit climber but I don't like the belt tree strap. I tighten it but it becomes way to loose when I move around.... am I doing something wrong?

Please, don't take any chances.... Trust me! Been there, done that!!

Been there, done that!! I tried and I couldn't find any on the tree strap itself. All of the videos were about putting on the harness which I have no problem with. Its the strap that attaches to the tree that doesn't sit right with me.
Burden24
Muddy all the way, light and comfy with a built in bino harness. Ya can't beat it for $100 Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk

I believe that the white print on the tree strap is supposed to be facing out or else the strap can come loose . Try that ............... CuseHunter
I just got a new gorilla G30 this season and love it. Amazing quality and easy to put on. Long tether strap is real nice when bow hunting. Hands down my #2 most important investment in my hunting gear. Right behind my HSS rope tree tether strap thingy. CuseHunter
I also got the harness for like $70 on eBay new in the box
Nomad
I use the ones that come with the stands, my old HSS just sits. I tie my own Prusik on line I buy. It is Prusik btw it's his last name. I tie the loop with a double fisherman. For what it's worth I'm certified NYS intermediate level rope rescue. The key is to practice with your harness and line. Have you ever hung from it? Felt the thightness in the groin? Saw how the harness rides way up restricting arm movement? Training is key to whatever you use. Stay safe. Five Seasons
I have the hunter safety system and the spider. Spider hands down no contest. It's pricey, but you asked best. So I'm not a fanboy. Own them both.
