Roost question

Comes down to a question of ethics again; in NY it's legal to shoot a turkey on the roost (it's not legal in many states). Provided you have a turkey license, the season is open, and are good enough to take a kill shot in a tree with a bow, then you are not breaking any rules.

Would I? No. I'd shoot one with a shotgun out of a tree though, and I know a lot of turkey hunters won't shoot one on the roost under ANY conditions.

when i was a teenager i shot at a turkey during the fall season while it was up in a tree. i aimed at the head/neck area just like you would if the turkey was on the ground.

when you are picking wood chips out of the bird that you are planning on eating................

only took me but one time to figure out why they say......... if ya want to shoot it while its sitting on that branch go right ahead........

NOPE ill pass and wait till it is on the ground.
