2012_taco
I pulled my camera and have several videos of bucks fighting. Not full blown but pushing each other around for a bit. Not just yearlings, bucks going at it. Has anyone seen this kind of activity this late in the year? I'm not sure what to make of it but it looks like bachelor groups probably fighting over the last remaining pears. My camera is set up at a couple of old pear trees. Here are some pics I saved from the videos.
Fletch
I had two small bucks on cam last week doing the same under an apple tree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wooly
As long as their antlers are still stuck to their heads they'll keep bumping bones. I've seen that right into February/March sometiimes if your lucky especially around those little concentrated food sources. I think a lot of antlers get shed this way especially later into winter.Nice series! Edited December 2, 2013 by wooly
WNYBuckHunter
Yep. I posted a series of the buck I shot last week in an all out brawl with another buck just last week. Just because the rut has already peaked, doesnt mean the testosterone levels have gone down yet. There will be another secondary rut coming up soon. Scrapes may start opening up again. 2012_taco
after further thought I believe they are probably fighting over who gets to eat the remaining pears. I've watched a doe fight off her offspring to eat first. Survival of the fittest.
