I saw one blow up on a guy one year shooting indoor league. The limbs bounced off his chest. Thank god he didn't get hurt! Oneida Screaming Eagle.....It screams as its coming apart!

I have seen that happen to other bow to, I see the cable brake and limb to right up along the head (face)

Ive always wanted to pick one up to play around with. Pretty neat bows.

 

BTW, they are still made, pretty pricey though.

Buddy shot one and it was a nightmare to tune

I went even further backwards and ended up getting a recurve.  not sure if I know of anyone that has one.  they're over a grand to get one brand new.

My dad worked for Oneida for many years until they moved to Michigan. My son still shoots my old one and other than being very loud it gets the job done.

yes! they are pricey but look at any good compound bow but the Oneida you can still can get parts for even 1987 one post here how many other bow can say that

I had an Oneida Lightforce magnum when I shot a compound... noisy son of a gun... fast... but sounded like a cannon going off...

My uncles and grandfather had some Oneidas. Very cool.

We machined parts for them back in the 90's,before the guy that ran it messed it all up and CP Polk bought them out.In fact I still think I have a machined riser in my conference room.I will look tomorrow if I remember and take a pic.Still one of my favorite old bows.Not fast but would bury deep into anything it was shot at.I killed alot of deer with a Aero Force X-80 and a Lite Force Magnum I had.I would like to find another light force to shoot again
