phade
Mine is going out in the mail this weekend. I haven't even fired a round out of it yet. Sheesh.
ants
From what I have heard, the problem is that bonding agent (glue) may have gotten into the trigger/safety mechanism. Remington is inspecting those areas and cleaning them if needed. They're not replacing anything. ….Anyone heard different???
Elmo
Sent mine out early June. Received notification from them that they received it on 6/14. Still waiting for it to come back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
orion
It was 6 weeks from when they recieved it until I got it back, Just to let you know I received NO notification (email) that it was sent back It just showed up one day and it needs to be signed for Edited July 18, 2014 by orion
Merlot
Seems logical to me to get the repair done by a reliable gunsmith, as opposed to shipping the rifle to parts unknown, then tap your foot waiting for months on end before the item is returned hopefully in one piece. Elmo
I've never had a problem with mine. I sent it back mainly to keep whatever warranty on it alive. I don't want something wrong to happen and they turn around and say "we're not reliable since you never sent it in when we told you that you should." Liability then transfers from Remington to me. It's going back to Ilion...where they were made.
Elmo
It was 6 weeks from when they recieved it until I got it back, Just to let you know I received NO notification (email) that it was sent back It just showed up one day and it needs to be signed for Notification email also includes repair number. You can go to their website, enter the repair number, and it'll give you a status update. Whatever that's worth. For the 1st week after the notification, every time I checked, it said that they received it and it's being processed. After a week, it reads a service/repair technician is working on your product. It has been at that status ever since.
132 eight pointer
The story I was told is that the trigger assembly was made in Mexico and there was too much thread sealant on some set screws which caused an unsafe condition. 2006-2014 is a high number of rifles made. Also heard law enforcement /military have priority (they should).I also will be sending back to Ilion,N.Y. or wherever the instructions tell me to. I think a free box of ammo is in order due to my having to remove/install the scope again after the rifle is deemed safe.I will not be leaving the scope on while it is away from home. eagle rider
I've given up hope on Remington and the Freedom Group. Sadly, I bought and installed a Timney trigger. I'm done sending them my guns for their screw ups.
132 eight pointer
I'm looking at aftermarket trigger assemblies too.Timney,Rifle Basix,Jewell and Shilen all make replacements.I am not happy about spending aprox. $150 on one but I really am not wanting to remove the scope and send the rifle back for who knows how long. The bright side is a better, safer trigger. phade
Based on our current rate of return, we are estimating a minimum 12 week return time from the point of receiving your firearm. Word from the horse's mouth....

The 700 trigger is really a pretty good, finely adjustable trigger if adjusted properly by someone who knows what he is doing, all factory practices( like laquering the adjustment screws) aside.
132 eight pointer
I believe you Pygmy as you know volumes more about rifles than I do.I would have been perfectly satisfied with the Remington x-mark that came with my 700 for what I will use it for.My problem is having to ship the entire rifle back without the scope and waiting time. WNYBuckHunter
Anyone that wants an X-Mark trigger assembly, let me know. I popped the Timney in mine this past weekend. Sure beat the 6-8 month wait if i had sent it in.
