moog5050
So, I just picked a new one of these up on a trade for a bow. Thought it might be cool to try to film a few hunts this year - plus I know my kids will get a kick out of using it. Anyone use one or something similar? Any tips on how best to film the hunt? Do you mount to the bow, tree or elsewhere? This has the remote, so it should be easy to turn on when needed.
NFA-ADK
They are good if you are close. I wish it had a zoom, 20 yards is far for this camera. I use a head mount due to the bow vibrating when shot. Remote is good but only last a short period. Good luck with it they are a fun toy and great if you can get a close shot.
biggamefish
I have one and they are great for bow range. I used mine last year during bow season and the one time I didn't have it on a deer came in and I got a shot off. lol They are fun.
First-light
The software it comes with lets you zoom when editing the film. My brother uses one and loves it.
phade
Sheesh. I can just see it now this November...missing a buck because the cam needed to be turned on.
moog5050
I keep trying to relieve you of all that negativity buddy, but it doesn't take. Hang in there. If I miss a buck because of that, it just means you might get a chance. lol Or, I might film you admiring MY buck.

deerpassion
I do the same , bow mount , but again they have to be right on top of you to get anything viable. That's the only bad thing about the go pro, that n u don't have a viewing screen to see what your filming ... I tried a couple a time with a tree arm mount cam along with the bow mount go pro and I gotta say it's tough ! The buck I shot last season during bow came in so quick I had no time but to grab the bow , turn around , draw n shoot , no way did I have a chance to turn both cams on , but I wasn't about to miss the opportunity ... The go pro is great for turkey, or a second view for drawing (tree mount or bow) but not for a primary footage of them coming in and zooming in on the shot... moog5050
Thanks DP - there is an LCD screen that attaches to the back to see what you are filming. Must be kind of hit or miss without it if you are targeting a certain spot. I understand most often these are used during an activity where one is not framing the shot so to speak.
