HuntOrBeHunted
Fusion or Hornady 150grain.
deerhunter1699
Witch one is cheaper but will still give me good results ?
Woodjr55
If your looking for cheap ammo look for hornady American whitetail it falls in to the cheap price point. Try it out see how your gun likes it.
deerhunter1699
Thanks woodjr55 and what stores would I be able to find those at?
Woodjr55
Any big box should have them. May have to look around to find your caliber
HuntOrBeHunted
Any of them are good rounds and the price on bigger cailbers are all high I would say. Price is right around the same for both brands of ammo. And as far as results thats up to you as long as your rifle is sighted in they both work very well. gfdeputy2
all I can tell you is each gun will shoot different. both my rugers have shot the best using fusion ammo .308 American loves the 150gr M77 .270 Loves the 130 Gr but does well with the 150Gr too best thing to do is try different ammo to see what your guns shoots well with or you are happy with. Can get expensive but Fun
bubba
Good ol remington core lokt. Cheap and effective. My recent say good luck finding 308. Pretty scarce.
Hock3y24
Hornaday american whitetail shot the best in my savage.Fusion was second for me, and corelokts were just ok.

moog5050
I had good luck ordering from Gander and having 308 delivered to the store, if its not in stock.
stubby68
I'm with bubba I like the Remington core lok not only for the price but my gun likes them too. I tried winchester but found they did not make a good kill they were accurate but I do not think they expanded well. Can not say for sure as I never found one all shots were in and out and I had to make a fallowup shot. My thought is that they are too hard like shockwaves for ml never had good luck with those either. As bubba said good luck finding 308 ammo it seems to be getting harder and harder to find
ATbuckhunter
I may catch some flack for this but I love Barnes TSX bullets. Its expensive but worth it.
deerhunter1699
My uncle uses those @Atbuckhunter and he said he loves them but I don't really care for them that much
deerhunter1699
And thanks stubby I'll try them out
Elmo
I use the 150 grain Core Lokts as well. Sub MOA at 100 yards. 2 inch group at 200 yards. Figure that's good enough for me in these woods. Though I did buy some Sierra Game Kings. Just haven't loaded any of them up yet.
deerhunter1699
What store did you purchase those at? Edited August 5, 2014 by deerhunter1699
Elmo
The Core Lokts I got from various places. The Game Kings are just bullets. They're for reloading. I ordered them from Midway USA. I haven't tried them out yet but it seems a lot of people who reload raves about them.
deerhunter1699
I don't reload so I will have to try out the core lokt
stoneam2006
When I use my 270 it prefers the fusion ammo....it's a savage
deerhunter1699
How do they shoot?
HuntOrBeHunted
Hornaday american whitetail shot the best in my savage.Fusion was second for me, and corelokts were just ok. The Core Lokts are like Aaahh thats all I have left lol.
stoneam2006
The fusions in my 270 shoot great can keep in a 6 in circle all day at 200....and it's a savage axis syn stock..your budget rifle and I trust it to shoot that way every time. Core loks are pretty good shooters also but for almost same cost I choose the fusions.
