RangerClay
I'm getting tired of going to Gander Mountain every time I want arrows cut down for my kids. So I'm looking to buy a cheap arrow saw. For those of you who make their own arrows, do you have any suggestions?
dbHunterNY
nope but I've long thought about getting one. Cabelas makes a 5000 rpm one and 8000 rpm one. I think I'd get the faster one plus get it with the shop vac attachement to keep the carbon dust from getting out of control.
loworange88
go over to archerytalk.com and look in the DIY section. Guys build them all the time for about $50 or so using a small Harbor Freight saw.

518BowSlayer
I saw a video of a guy cutting carbon arrows with a good wood file. I tried it myself and so far so good. just make sure you dry fit the inserts and make sure they sit in there real good before gluing them. and do it real slow, don't just hack away at it like a hack saw
adkbuck
Ranger, I purchased a Cabela's Arrow saw arrow saw a few years ago. I like it a lot. I think it only cost me a bit over $100. I also purchased a couple of extra blades and some nock cement with it. Its been a good investment. Just checked mine and it is the 5000 rpm version but buzzes through shafts easily, Dust hasn't been a problem for me. I only do a few arrows at a time. fasteddie
I bought the mini chop saw at Harbor Freight a few years ago and made one . I removed the blade that came with it and added an abrasive blade to the saw .
Doc
I've had mine for decades, but it sure wasn't cheap. But, for all the use I've put it through, it doesn't owe me a cent.
fasteddie
I have cut several of my own arrows as well as for others with the home made saw . My youngest son shoots Easton FMJ's and it cut them with ease . I also use an Arrow Squaring Device made by G5 .
Kujo48
I have the Cabela's 8000 RPM saw. Probably not the best saw you can buy but works great for my purposes.
fasteddie
Here is the cutoff saw video I made a few years ago . As you can imagine it is very unprofessional .
