CVA Wolf reviews

Depends on the price Ranger. I am currently trying to help a buddy get his set up and sighted in. There was crap in the firing pin spring out of the factory and it would only fire about every other time. accuracy at 100 yards is about at 4" but we are still playing around with the loads and rounds. I think the thing new was like $150 or so.

They're built out of the cheapest plastics and they feel like $150. I have one and introduce a buddy of mine to one who I help sight in. We both shoot 1 and half inch to 2 inch (max) out to 100 yards. I've never had it fail to fire on me

Not much different after the second shot but I think it starts to open up on the third.  I rarely taken a third shot without passing a wet patch through it.  Haven't shot three in a row enough to be 100% sure it's from powder residue or my own error.

Mine is reliable as all get out.  Shooting 1.5" groups with 100gr Pyrodex pellets and a 250gr Hornady SST.  Yeah, the fit and plastic stock feels cheap, but muzzleloader season is also only 10 days long.  I like mine and would buy it again.

I've shot 250 gr. SSTs with their sabot and now I shoot the Harvester sabots and their scorpion out of it.

Honestly, I think muzzleloaders are more tough to load at the muzzle and then get easier as momentum carries you through.

I shoot 777 pellets out of it either a one or two 50 gr. I have never seen the need to go with the 150 gr load other than to say I am doing so and burning money in the process. Esp. if you are shooting 125 yds and in...never seen the need for that much juice. Right now I have it set up for a brush gun with just one 50 gr. pellet. I took a doe with it season before last. Didn't hunt with it last year as I only got out with my ML 2x and used my Vortek UL both times.

For you, using powerbelts, you could put a rock down the muzzle and get a better blood trail. Powerbelts are horrible. horrible.

Harvester is one of the more respected names in ML. You'll be pleased with the performance.

I have one that's about 7 years old. Haven't hunted much at all during ML season, and have actually missed a couple of deer with my CVA Wolf, but that was no fault of the guns. I have gotten very nice groups with all the different bullets I've tried shooting thru it. Certainly a nice gun for the low price. If you want a good inexpensive ML, this is it.

I like my Wolf. I have only taken 1 deer with it and missed a couple . I put a scope on it last year and took it opening day of firearms, didn't shoot it though.I like how light weight and compact it is and it seems accurate to me however I usually shoot 100 yds. and under. 90 grains of loose triple 7 powder and 250 gr sabot is what I have shot. For the money I don't think anyone can complain about the Wolf.
