Missed this train by 30 minutes!

I just pulled my cards today. Have a lot of nice Bucks and Does. This 10 pt is lucky! This was Veterans weekend and my two Daughters came up. 

Teddi and I crossbow hunted together. I remember Saturday morning she missed a small buck and we hung around. I looked at my phone saw it was 9:30 and said to her another half hour? OK dad. We left and look what showed up! I went to shoot at this buck days earlier but my release failed. As far as I know he is still out there.

Stories like this always make me wonder if the deer knew you were there and was waiting for you to leave before making his move.  I know bucks/deer learn to pattern us too.

Agreed, they absolutely pattern us. They know when atv/trucks come and go

State land with a constant flow of orange past the camera during gun season. So yeah they watch and know where you are.

Mature bucks within their own core area, certainly do pattern us 100%. They setup at their advantage typically, on our access points. That's why its best to build them habitat they will use and benefit them but keep them from seeing us enter and exit..
